B$Z: Wilderness Systems Wins YakAngler.com’s 2014 Kayak Angler’s Choice Award
Now in its fourth year, YakAngler.com’s Kayak Angler Choice Awards are a way for the angling community to vote for their favorite kayak fishing products. This year’s selection process involved three rounds of nationwide balloting to narrow down a field of over 600 nominations and 15,000 total votes with only one vote per angler.
“We are incredibly proud to win this prestigious award from the kayak angling community and YakAngler.com,” said Hans Nutz, designer for Wilderness Systems. “Our team invested significant resources in the design and testing of the Phase 3 AirPro MAX seat and we believe it is truly the most innovative, highest quality kayak fishing seat on the market today. It is both exciting and rewarding to see our commitment to and investment in this growing sport foster this kind of success, and we are honored to receive this award from the people who matter most – the athletes and enthusiasts who spend countless hours on the water enjoying our products and putting them to the test day after day.”
The AirPro MAX seat is compatible with Ride model kayaks (model years 2012 and above) without compromising the stability and nimble characteristics that anglers have come to know and love in the Ride. One of the features that makes this seat so unique is that anglers now can move quickly and easily between the three seat positions – low, high and recline – providing them with the height needed to spot fish from their seat. The seat also moves forward and back using a unique injection-molded rail, allowing the boat to be properly trimmed during paddling or slid back to provide ample standing area while fishing. The seat back can also be folded and sat upon for even more height on the water.
Made with reliable and time-tested premium materials that reduce weight and increase its longevity in harsh environments, the AirPro MAX is water-resistant, breathable, durable, UV-resistant, and ready for any type of weather conditions. The aluminum tube frame construction is highly durable and without welds, and houses an all-weather, breathable open weave fabric with 3D mesh filler that affords both comfort and functionality, as well as opportunities for side pocket and tackle box storage. The injection-molded slide rails also serve as a platform for mounting accessories to the seat, providing the ultimate in gear accessibility as they move along with the paddler.
Wilderness Systems’ Pro Staff anglers were an integral part of the Phase 3 AirPro MAX design process, as they spent many months testing the Ride MAX boats in all types of fishing and weather conditions. The contributions and feedback from the Pro Staff are reflected in every aspect of the seat, from the easy adjustability and installation to the premium durable materials used to build it.To watch a video on the Phase 3 AirPro MAX seat, click here.
