EVENT: The Surf Invades the Desert
whole heartedly celebrates on . After eleven years of curating independent shorts and feature-length films from filmmakers the world over, the festival is now known as a Big Island tradition for vast communities of surf, art and music enthusiasts. The event will run alongside the Palm Springs International Shortfest, and all proceeds will benefit Surfrider Foundation WLAM Chapter, a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting our oceans and beaches. Ticket prices for Kona Surf Film Fest Event are: $10 or $25 with Gift Bag. Both prices include a reusable stainless steel cup, (yours to keep) since this is a no-plastic event
In continuance to Friday’s event Surfrider Foundation WLAM & SurferxBlood will host with The Ace Hotel & Swim Club a pool party to Celebrate International Surfing Day from Noon – 6pm w/ DJ sets by special guest The Allah-Las, Farmer Dave, and Morgan Pharoh & Erik Hamamoto of The Teddy Boys. Make sure to purchase your Surf Inspired Specialty drinks from the Surfrider Blue Bus. All proceeds from those drinks purchased will go to benefit Surfrider Foundation WLAM Chapter to continue their good work protecting and cleaning the Los Angeles & Malibu beaches, surf breaks, and all waterways leading to our beloved Ocean.
