EVENT: Dallas Skate Shop to Host First Stop of 2015 US Skateboarding Championships

World Skateboarding Grand Prix (WSGP) – the leading global skateboarding events management company – has partnered with Rhythm Skate Shop to host the first tour stop of the 2015 U.S. Skateboarding Championships at Alliance Skate Park in Grand Prairie.  Registration begins at 10 a.m. this Saturday, June 20 and the contest begins at noon. The U.S. Skateboarding Championships are sanctioned by the World Skateboarding Federation, a governing body for skateboarding.

The WSGP selected 11 of the leading independent skate shops across the nation to partner with for the championship tour. The winner of the Dallas qualifier will also earn themselves a spot in the U.S. Skateboarding Championship finals August 29 in Washington D.C. The winner will also earn the chance to compete against the world’s best skaters, from over 50 countries, in the Skateboarding World Championships. This year’s world championships will be held at the Kimberley Diamond Cup in South Africa, Oct. 7-10.

“We are excited to be one of the few select locations in the United States to host this amazing event,” said  Mark Laue, executive director of Action Park Alliance. “Today’s new skaters need this outlet to showcase their skills and hard work.”

The WSGP selected 11 of the leading independent skate shops across the nation to partner with for the summer tour.  Please note that many of the contest locations are at area parks and not at the skate shops. For registration and full event details, click here.
