EVENT: Labor Day Weekend Fun at Tahoe Donner

Glow Golf at Tahoe Donner Golf Course – Sept. 4

Bring the family and join us for an entertaining evening of glow golf at Tahoe Donner Golf Course. It’s 4-hole glow golf with an extreme putting contest, including prizes for the winners! Your ticket comes with all the glow gear you’ll need, but bring more if you’d like.

WHEN: Friday, Sept. 4, 2015
WHERE: Tahoe Donner Golf Course (12850 Northwoods Blvd, Truckee, CA)
TIME: 8 p.m. approximately (We’ll start just after sunset)
COST: $15 adults; $10 kids ages 6 – 16; kids age 5 and under are FREE; advance reservations required. Glow gear included. Sign up in the pro shop or by calling 530-587-9443.

Cornhole Tournament at Northwoods Clubhouse – Sept. 4

We’re bringing the ultimate backyard game to Tahoe Donner with our new Cornhole tournaments. Test your skills in this fun bag toss similar to horseshoes, but with wooden boxes. For a small entry fee, there will be prizes for each individual tournament, plus an overall series champion. The winning two-person team will each win a $25 Tahoe Donner gift card. Food is available for purchase at Pizza on the Hill.

COST: $10 PER TEAM (includes two drink tickets)

Annual Rental Bike Sale at Tahoe Donner Bikeworks – Sept. 5

Our annual rental bike sale will be starting at 9 am on Labor Day weekend, Saturday, Sept. 5. Most of the bikes that will be available for sale will be finishing their second or third summer in our fleet. It is first-come, first-served for this annual event. Be here early for the best selection. Feel free to stop by ahead of time to try the bikes out.

Saturday Night BBQ at Tahoe Donner Equestrian Center – Sept. 5

Our Saturday night BBQ is a family favorite and sure to delight the young and young at heart. Our guests join us at 5 p.m. for a fun-filled evening of games, crafts, contests, dress up and delicious food. You can play a game of horseshoes or try your hand at throwing a rope. Bring the camera and get pictures of the family at the dress up and photo station. The kids can make an ornament or decorate a bandana. After dinner the kids can take a swing at the piñata and then compete in the hunt for the golden horseshoe. A family water balloon toss finishes off the evening.

The regular BBQ menu includes hot dogs, veggie burgers and hamburgers cooked to order and personalized with your favorites from our extensive topping bar. Bacon, sautéed mushrooms, cheddar, Swiss and bleu cheeses, avocado, pineapple, chili, sauerkraut and more are available. Baked beans, salads, cake or pie and campfire s’mores round out the menu.

Free Mimosa with Sunday Brunch at The Lodge Restaurant – Sept. 6

Get a free mimosa with any brunch entree purchase on Sept. 6. Valid for those 21 and over only.

Summer Finale BBQ – Sept. 6

Grab the kids and get ready for our Summer Finale BBQ taking place on Sunday of Labor Day weekend. Challenge your neighbors and friends to a variety of games, including an association-wide scavenger hunt. Bring your swim suits and slide down the Flume Zoom or compete in our Family Olympics with three-legged races, potato sack races, and more. The evening will finish with a movie under the stars. A BBQ will be serving up burgers, hot dogs, chips, potato salad, watermelon and drinks for the entire event. The golf course beverage cart will be on site serving alcoholic beverages. This event is free, excluding food and beverages. Below is a detailed itinerary.

1 – 1:30 p.m.  Activities
Skee Ball, Flume Zoom, Bounce House, Badminton, Cornhole, Giant Chess, RC cars, Ladder golf

1:30 – 3:30 p.m. Family Olympics
Families will have the opportunity to compete against each other in a number of events. Families will accumulate points at each event based on how well they do. Points will be tallied and winners will be awarded after the events end.

4 – 6:00 p.m. Scavenger Hunt
Families will be challenged to travel around the association to find an array of different objects; some may be simple and others difficult but those who put in the effort will be rewarded as the more difficult objects are worth more points. Vehicle recommended to participate in this activity.

6 – 7:00 p.m. Cornhole Tournament
Find a partner and try your luck at this backyard favorite. Teams of two will compete in a single elimination, bracket style tournament.

7:30 – 9:00 p.m. Featured film, “Sandlot” playing on the big screen

1 – 7 p.m. Al a carte BBQ – Burgers, dogs, veggie burgers, potato salad, chips, slice of watermelon. Popcorn and cotton candy also for sale.

Bingo Night at Northwoods Clubhouse – Sept. 7

Free! Enjoy bingo on the lawn outside Northwoods Clubhouse from 6:30 – 8 p.m. Bring a blanket, enjoy a pizza from Pizza on the Hill, and play for fun prizes.
