B$Z: World of X Games Presents WSL Stop No. 7 Billabong Pro Tahiti
into World of X
Games this Sunday,
September 20 for a one-hour show on the WSL Stop No. 7 Billabong Pro
at 4 p.m. ET / 2 p.m. PT on ABC.
This weekend’s show will highlight the seventh of 11 stops on the 2015 Samsung Galaxy WSL Championship Tour (CT) at the world-famous Teahupo’o reef pass in Tahiti – the 18th edition of the contest.
The event kicked off the opening eight heats of round one with all eyes on three-time WSL Champion Mick Fanning, his first competition appearance since being attacked by a shark in J-Bay, South Africa. However, reigning WSL Champion and defending event winner, Gabriel Medina and current Jeep leader jersey holder Adriano de Souza had other ideas on their minds, looking to make a move to collect valuable points towards the race for this year’s title. The competition concluded with awarding one of the top men on the circuit with the Andy Irons Most Committed Performance Award which is given out each year to the standout surfer at the Billabong Pro Tahiti event.
