Tahoe Donner Hires Bill Haley as Group Sales Representative

Tahoe Donner Association welcomes Bill Haley as the new group sales representative. With a background in sales tourism, production, group event bookings and guest services, Haley will oversee the booking of weddings and group events for all offerings at select amenities.

Haley brings with him a wealth of management experience, most recently as the general manager for The Truckee Hotel and Moody’s Bistro, Bar & Beats, where he oversaw the operations of the entire property and was in charge of group booking for their private room, The Parlor.

“My job at The Truckee Hotel was to increase sales and make it more profitable than it was before,” Haley said. “The last six months before I joined Tahoe Donner, we had record breaking individual months as well as a record breaking calendar year in 2015.”

Prior to relocating to Truckee in 2012, Haley was the assistant tradeshow manager at LB Lightswest Production Center in Lodi, Calif. While there he managed the production of large tradeshows and concerts on the west coast including set up and backstage production for Aerosmith, Tim McGraw, Carrie Underwood, and Justin Bieber.

“We are really excited for Bill to join the Tahoe Donner team,” Brinn Talbot, director of marketing and membership services, said. “His attention to detail, passion to sell, as well as his guest services and operations background will be an asset to our members and guests.”

Originally from Stockton, Calif., Haley attended college at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo where he majored in agricultural business and minored in finance and appraisal, marketing, and wine and viticulture while managing two local surf shops.

“I am excited to be part of a larger team that offers generous venue opportunities to its membership and the public, including corporate functions, private events and weddings. While I have been around weddings from a production standpoint, I was primarily focused on the set up the day before or the day of the event before my involvement ended,” Haley said. “To show couples our venues and to help them make decisions for their special day is going to be enjoyable considering I just got engaged myself.”

When not helping Tahoe Donner members and guests create the perfect group event, Haley can be found enjoying the many recreational opportunities found in Truckee. “In the summer, you can find me golfing or mountain biking and in the winter I love to ski,” Haley said. “Or just to spend time with my fiancé and our dogs.”
