The World Series of Wakesurfing 2016 Tour is August 12&13 at Pineview Reservoir, Huntsville UT
Bookended by Snow Basin and Powder Mountain ski resorts Pineview’s sandy beaches set the stage for this World Series of Wakesurfing Tour Stop, Silver Star Event and World Championship qualifier! Offering an overload of outdoor recreational opportunities in the surrounds and the dynamic offerings of Ogden, Utah just down the road, this destination will quickly become a favorite for the touring pros and give the regions riders of all levels an opportunity to compete on wakesurfing’s biggest stage!
Centurion boats and BoardCo have stepped up as title sponsor and exclusive tow boat for the two day event that will feature competitors from amateur youth through Pro Divisions. Event organizer and President of BoardCo, Troy Mann stated, “The magnitude and growth of wakesurfing in the region inspired us to want to bring the highest levels of competition here to show folks what is possible and get them involved on the big stage. We see it as a great opportunity to catalyze more growth and participation.”
A number of professional wakesurfers will take to the water including Current World Champions Keenan Flegel who currently holds five World Titles (www.keenanflegel.com) and Caroline Villeneuve who also operates a wakes sports school in Canada. In addition to the pros, amateur divisions are filled with folks from the immediate area and those traveling in from all over the country and world to compete.
Our motivation in putting on these events is building the family culture and community around it in the region. Our ability to work closely with authorities and close a significant part of the reservoir to make this happen is key.” Said Paul Avner, event organizer and principal partner at ClubRecUtah.com.
Along with those previously shared sponsors, AD-Triple- S Motorsports will be onsite with side by side demos and wave runners from their brand offerings. As a core to the presenting entities Bridget Chambers of Utah Lodging added this. “As one of the largest operations of rental units and luxury properties in an area with many natural assets, participating in events promotes the local economy and helps introduce our area to people who might not otherwise be reached which will build year after year if done right.” Jones Shirts & Signs is a presenting partner this year as well providing trophies and official event apparel.
