Gregory Baltoro 65 Named in Backpacker “Gear Hall of Fame”
Gregory’s best-selling Baltoro 65 backpack was inducted into the Backpacker Magazine “Gear Hall of Fame," this month. The award, given to outdoor gear that has stood the test of time and stayed at the top of their class, adds to an already impressive list of accolades the Baltoro has received.
Gregory Mountain Products, a longtime leader in backpacks and adventure travel gear, first introduced the Baltoro pack in 2006. The pack was designed to offer supreme comfort for both casual hikers and the most demanding backpackers. Since it’s inception, the pack has undergone multiple updates but stayed true to its’ roots by offering Gregory’s legendary fit and design.
The comfortable fit is due to the Response A3 Suspension System. The suspension system, featured on the Baltoro, and its’ female-specific counterpart the Deva, automatically adjusts to the hiker’s body, making the spacious pack feel deceptively light and agile even with a full load.
Backpacker Magazine notes the Baltoro’s tough construction, as well as other innovative features like a waterproof hip belt pocket and removable daypack, as some of the reasons for the packs placement in the Hall of Fame. The Baltoro was one of the first packs Backpacker’s Rocky Mountain Field Editor, Elisabeth Kwak-Hefferan, purchased.
“Twelve years later, it’s still the pack I grab for big, epic hikes,” says Kwak-Hefferan.
“We are delighted to see the Baltoro recognized as a time-tested piece of gear,” says Gregory’s VP of Design and Development, John Sears. “Gregory’s mission is to make products that are functional, long-lasting and inspire people to get out more. The Baltoro being recognized in the “Hall of Fame” reinforces our approach to build uncompromised, highly trusted gear that evolves over time.”
