Gates Supervisor

Life has an interesting way of dressing you, and I have worn many hats in my days. Some fit well, other's not so much, but I keep putting them on, switching them around depending on what occasion I find myself in. I've worn the hat of a Writer, a Producer, an Educator and a Coach. I've worn the hat of a Manager, a Marketer, and as a Sales Rep. I an not afraid to put on new hats and make them work. I know you have a hat for me.

Dining Lead

As a member of the Lake Mission Viejo Association Team, my duties include, but re not limited to: 

Verifying Membership Status/Customer Service. It is a necessary aspect of my job to make sure everybody who enters this beautiful private lake facility, as required by the Board of Directors, is an active member or friend of a member. This job requires me to be able to communicate effectively with a variety of people from different nationalities, socio-economic backgrounds, and temperaments.

Being that is is a private facility that allows guests to be escorted in by members, I must keep and maintain a cash box that sells guest passes, and fishing passes. Also, if a member misplaces, forget, or loses their Membership Card, it is my responsibility to issue them a refundable Temporary Pass , collect the money, write a receipt for their new Membership Card. At the end of my shifts, I must count my money to makes sure it matches the passes I sold through out the day. This includes the Summer Concerts, which can add up to thousands of dollars were bag.

I was asked to come back to the Lake when they found out I was between employers. I had worked at Lake Mission Viejo Association in 2011, when I found another job and left on excellent terms.

Gate Attendant

I wore a few hats for this company ranging from a warehouse employee doing Pick-n-Pak duties, to running the Shipping and Receiving Docks. I also worked in the front office claiming repsonsibilities as a part of the Administrative Staff, directing phone calls, working with accounts, and general office duties.

Customer Relations/Shipping and Receiving Supervisor

As the Executive Writer/Producer at KBRT AM740, I carried a tremendous load of responsibilities. My main responsibilities were to write and produce all on-air commercials for the only Live Talk Show of the day. This meant I had to have or develop great knowledge of what each of our advertisers did and write compelling commercials in order to build their brand and make them successful. My knowledge and expertise was developed during the selling stages of the partnership where I participate in the Sales call with the Account Representatives. My knoweldge and expertise grew by during further research and keeping in constant communication with the advertisers. 

Tracking was also a key element to my position as Executive Writer/Producer. On a daily basis, I checked the air-times of each commercial and compared them with the number of calls each commercial generated. I would determine key times for each commercial, and see to it that each commercial be aired at the most effective time slot for optimum benefit.

On the Producer side, I voiced, recorded, or sent out copy to be voiced, loaded each spot to the computer or editing machine, edited, added music or sound effects, and put it the system to be played on-air. I also handled the inventory of music and sound effect CDs determined by time of year or necessity of new material.

Probably the most fun part of this job was being asked to do voice-over work from some of our sister stations. At one point I was the voice behind two Buick Dealerships, one some where in Oklahoma and one in Arkansas.

Executive Writer/Produce

I started out in the District as a Substitute Teacher and Girl's Volleyball Coach at La Habra High School before be hired on as a Teacher and Head Girl's Volleyball Coach at Troy High School. While at Troy, I taught Physical Education, Health, Computers, and World History. I spent one year as the Advisor for the Student Government overseeing every activity of the school for that year, 2002-2003. I was also ablate take my coaching talents from the gym as a Volleyball Coach to the track as the Boy's and Girl's High Jump Coach. I actually got my start coaching Track and Field at La Habra High when I was asked to coach Long/Triple/High Jumps.

I had many great success at Troy and La Habra including: 

*Winning a CIF Championship
*Bringing the Troy Girl's Volleyball Team up from consistently battling for Third Place in League
  to battling for First Place in League.
*Having the best record in Girl's Volleyball in 25 years.
*Sending student athletes to college on scholarships.
*Working to get The Battle of the Bands back into the school after a 25 year ban, and then
  having it be the most successful and attended no-sports event of the year two years in a
  row.
*Most favorite success: Helping a Vietnamese student get out of a gang, graduate, and start
  college.

Educator/Coach

My man functions at Promotion Rehab/Geri Care, was to aide in the therapy given to our geriatric patients in Nursing Homes and Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF). I was also responsible for maintaining the Physical Therapy potions of each patients medical chart, communication with facility staff and personnel, running fitness classes, and getting Medicare authorizations. I was trusted as well, to set up exercise plans for patients, which no other Aide was allowed.

Volleyball One was a Mail Order company for the sale of Volleyball equipment and uniforms. We had a small retail store, which I worked in, but mainly focused on phone inquiries. In the computer, I would write-up sales, and schedule them to be shipped. I handled payments and other responsibilities as required by a Customer Service Representaitve.

I started out at Graphic Chemical as a Warehouseman and Delivery Driver, and then promoted up to Plant Manager by the time I was 22 years old. I ran all phases of the Warehouse Operations, which included:

Order Fulfillment
Opening and Closing

Plant Manager

Jack's Surfboards was my first real job. I learned a lot about work ethic from Big Mike, Ron, and Bobby and have been in contact with Ron and Bobby throughout the years. Although it goes back a few years, this is the most relevant past job to place on Malakye. 

My job description was typical of any kid working in a surf shop; help customers and sell merchandise including surfboards and wetsuits. I also ran the cash register and worked on putting fins on surfboards and Boogie Boards and trucks and wheels on skateboards. However, as a young surfer I was also allowed the opportunity to learn about the surf industry. The operative word here "Learn." Although the industry has changed, if I can learn and be an asset to the company as a high school student/athlete, the possibilities are endless to what I can add as a college educated, experienced worker.
