Freelance Designer

I am an artist/designer with the ability to develop ideas from concept to completion. With real world experience, I am able to use strong conceptual and artistic abilities to produce work within budget and deadlines. I enjoy this industry as I am an active participant in kiteboard/surf/skate/snow.

As a freelance artist in the action sports industry I was able to truly explore my passion for action sports, namely kiteboarding. I produced graphics for soft and hard goods for a multitude of companies including: Liquid Force Kiteboarding, Wind Cult Kiteboarding, Sketchers Apparel and Kiteboarder Magazine. Depending on the company I worked either in small creative teams, or on my own. I met deadlines in a timely manner and explored new branding opportunities.

At OC Weekly I gathered editorial and art assets to create the layout for our weekly publication, as well as special issues and inserts. I managed the templates, photo color correction and style sheets. As the liaison between the editorial and production departments it was my duty to ensure deadlines were met in order to produce quality printing. With an astute attention to detail I oversaw all freelancers, production workflow and enforced all daily deadlines throughout departments. I often created editorial illustration and art assets for print
and web as well as stand in for the art director upon his absence.

Associate Art Director

As Senior Graphic Designer, I created advertising content for weekly publication as well as manage junior designers and designers to ensure workflow. Web and print assets were created to support the sales and marketing department. Having a fine arts background and strong conceptual/visual skills, I was often utilize to create art illustrations and content for the editorial department.

Senior Graphic Designer

As junior graphic designer for a weekly publication, I would create ads to support the sales and marketing department. My duties would include creation of ads-both web and print, file management, file back up and storage.

Junior Graphic Designer

I was actively involved in all aspects of conceptual design for this prominent animation studio based in LA. I worked with the creative services department as well as provided digital support to the digital animation department of new media. I managed character color design, one sheets and animation storyboards. During my time at Film Roman I also founded, consulted and supported the Commercial Animatics Division. This specialized division created new test commercials, which provided new business leads and interests for my company.

Graphic Designer

With Platinum Studios I managed artists and coordinated production of digital backgrounds for animated pilots. I developed character design and color, and directed the storyboard breakdowns for internet animations. I also assisted the Lead Animator with the production of animation.
