Freelance Senior-level Apparel Designer

Director of “Special Make Up” design department for men’s and women’s O’neill divisions across multiple categories and retail channels.  Designed and managed emerging brands product including Mossimo/ Goodfellow private label for Target, La Jolla Group proprietary brands and Hang Ten.  Ensured rep and account needs were met for core, off price and collaborative business opportunities.  Worked closely with sales force, merchandisers and production teams to cost-engineer product.  Promoted efficient design and development processes for fast-turn projects.

•	Directed and managed team of designers and O’neill SMU projects from concept to completion.
•	Collaborated with sales reps and production team to fill key account needs outside of the seasonal product lines.
•	Created, executed and managed new designs, prints, colorways and product modifications to meet specific account needs.

Senior Designer for junior’s and girl’s surf lifestyle apparel for Rusty North America.  Responsible for trend, color and silhouette direction each season.  Managed and directed junior’s designers and graphic artists. Designed collections and key items for core surf accounts as well as exclusive department store business. Worked closely with sales, merchandising, sourcing and marketing to insure brand goals were met.

•	Managed design process from start to finish, successfully adhering to calendar deadlines each season.
•	Identified Rusty North America customer and helped relaunch brand image through trend right product.
•	Provided seasonal trend, color and print research to management, M&D and sales teams each season.
•	Oversaw seasonal catalog shoots, styling, imagery selection and product layout to execute to brand direction.
•	Designed and executed core junior’s collections & exclusive JC Penney kid’s lines through detailed tech packs.
•	Worked closely with sourcing and pattern departments to insure proper product execution and fit.



Senior Designer/ Manager

Senior designer for d.e.m.o, a 225-store retail chain specializing in junior’s and young men’s apparel associated with hip-hop music and urban lifestyle.  Designed collections and key items, including knits, wovens, denim, sweaters, tees, and outerwear, achieving 20% sales penetration of the chain's total junior assortment.  Forecasted silhouettes, color stories, and overall direction for merchandising team in seasonal trend concept meetings. Produced detailed tech packs, including specifications.  Collaborated with technical designer in fitting all styles.

•	Traveled regularly to New York, Japan, Hong Kong, Korea, and Europe for inspirational shopping and sourcing, as well as product development.
•	Worked closely with buyers and product managers to maintain product assortment and achieve margin goals.
•	Contributed to launch of private label line, Anisette.  Developed trim, streamlined fits and devised brand identity to achieve strong customer following.
•	Transformed junior’s private label business to steady, low-markdown, key-item business.
•	Researched fit development for launch of extended sizes, producing incremental sales.
