Freelance Apparel, Accessory and Handbag Designer

Lisa Lazarus is a California native. She was born into a family of artists. The most influential was her uncle, Leon Bakst. He designed costumes and sets for the Russian Ballet. She began designing at age seven and was encouraged to continue her talent.

She earned her degree in Fashion Design from FIDM at age 22 in Los Angeles. However, Lisa credits most of her experience from working with talented teams, visiting overseas factories, New York showrooms, studying in the FIDM library and traveling abroad.

She has designed for some of the biggest names in the action sports industry including: Reef, Hurley, Pac Sun, Reebok, Target and Kohl's . She has a passion for apparel, accessories and print design. Her designs have graced the pages of many publications such as Teen Vogue, Seventeen and Surfer Magazine.

Design and develop artwork or product via tech-packs for apparel, accessories, graphics, prints, & packaging. Collaborate with clients to ensure success of project.

Designed, developed and merchandised 25 pieces per season for T-Shirt and Jeans. 
Research trends, color, silhouettes and create mood boards.
Communicate with overseas factory daily in regard to product approvals and revisions.
Create all original artwork, tech packs, lab dips, proto revisions, tracking samples.
Designed and developed 50 piece per season private label line for Kohl’s: Sonoma and MUDD. 
Merchandise line and present product information to sales team and clients at market week in NYC showroom.
Manage Assistant Designer on multiple projects across different product lines.

Handbag Designer and Developer

Design and developed 30 piece Skech line of iPhone, iPad and iPod cases and packaging.
Design Marketing Materials - newsletters, social media updates, advertising, and posters. 
Signed company up to 1% For The Planet in a grass roots effort to preserve the environment.
Customer Service- answer phones re: web sales and support in response to technical issues and concerns.
Manage Website - update product, photos, description and inventory
Supported Sales Manager with purchase orders, invoicing and packing list.
Manage Catalog - write copy and photograph 35 products .

Accessory Designer and Developer

Design and developed 35-50 piece lines for men’s, young women’s and children’s: handbags, luggage, belts and hats for Hurley & Reebok. 
Merchandise line, prepare sales reps for meetings with presentations.
Execute copy and photograph product for web, catalog, and trade shows.
Coordinate design effort with head buyer to create private label head wear & bag for Reebok Outlet Stores. 
Design and develop SMU’s for Pac Sun.

Designed, developed and merchandised 50 pieces per season Men’s board shorts, walk shorts and pants. Develop garments, prints in repeat, graphics, trims and textile fabrics (wovens and technical)
Design tech packs, lab dips, proto revisions, tracking samples, specs, fittings.
Coordinate design effort with Sales, Footwear and Marketing team.
Write copy, photograph product and create layout for catalogs and sales presentations. Maintain season product information: fabrics, cost, CADS and specs
Manage Developer on multiple projects and overseas factories.
