Currently the Product Design Manager for New Era Cap Co. West Coast office. I manage the design and creative direction for all product coming out of this office. The West Coast office started as the Action Sports office and has grown to include new emerging markets such as Golf, NASCAR etc. We have over 200 brand partners who represent the best of each market segment. My department is responsible for the design and conceptualization of functional, technical, and trendsetting headwear for some of the top-tier brands in the market today. Our product line has also expanded to include apparel and accessories. I've also been responsible for maintaining Asian factory partner relationships, resulting in extensive travel China and Taiwan. This has also provided me the opportunity to form tight relationships with fabric and trim vendors, and also the ability to navigate the expansive open markets in Guangzhou and Sham-Shui Po, as well as Shanghai and Hong Kong. I possess a strong knowledge of the entire design and development process, including the technical skill and expertise at the factory level. But beyond my specialized expertise in headwear, I also have a demonstrated creative ability, with considerable strength in artistic direction and high level-tastemaking design. Whether it be line merchandising and conceptualization, or color palette and market trend direction, I definitely have developed the capabilities to successfully manage the Design Department at New Era.
