Turned consulting opportunity into full-time leadership position tasked with turning around three declining brands that had been poorly managed for the prior three years.

Key Results:
Reversed two-year sales decline on Nutcase through innovative DTC campaigns, strategic partnerships with key retailers (REI, Pedego), and innovative new sales initiatives - sales up 32% for first nine months of the year.

Recruited and hired dynamic new Bike Team in early 2019 to help drive future growth for all brands.

Researched and developed an all-new product line for Nutcase in condensed product development timeline, launched at Eurobike 2019 for the 2020 model year. 

Lead the process of identifying and securing alternative helmet producers in Asia to improve flow of product and overall margin performance.


Senior Vice President Bike Specialty

Recruited to transform declining Interbike Tradeshow and position company to grow a stronger competitive advantage.

Key Results:
Built and led high-performing teams that successfully produced the largest events ever for multiple shows over their long histories.

Grew considerable new interest in the shows by expertly leading all creative and strategic direction, including annual theme, audience acquisition plan, ad creative, and communication schedule. 

Generated solid profitability and attained positive industry PR by conceptualizing and launching new retail event focused on educating bicycle retailers on recommended business practices.


Vice President and Show Director

Hired to grow sales for $100M specialty channel of all bicycle-related products, including Giro and Bell helmets, Blackburn products and Easton components and wheels. Directed all sales activities targeted at key industry retailers, including independent bicycle dealers, big box sporting goods (Dick’s and TSA), REI, and Performance Bike Shops. 

Key Results:
Netted 15% plus sales growth in key product categories and overcame competition from major bike brands by creating sales programs that delivered added margins to retailers as an incentive to stock product line.

Collaborated with marketing lead and product teams on all strategic marketing initiatives, including B2B site creation, B2C site development, dealer and consumer collateral, PR, tradeshows, and advertising, etc.


Director of Sales - North America - Specialty Retail Division

Called upon to completely overhaul all aspects of the company’s operations, implement new sales and marketing strategies, and establish stronger enterprise-wide financial controls.

Key Results:
Grew revenue from $2.1M in to over $5.6M in 3 years by increasing the company’s dealer and distributor base and through improved delivery of new products.

Orchestrated the sale of the company to outside investors in March 2008, resulting in strong financial returns for the original owner.

Continuously improved profitability throughout the organization by shifting the outsourcing of key products to Asia, reducing total SKU’s and cutting expenses.


Chief Executive Officer

Oversaw the integration of 3 brand acquisitions and direct European sales strategy within 2-year time frame.

Key Results:
Delivered $17M in increased sales, by expanding dealer base from 225 dealers to over 435 in 5 years. 

Researched and created European direct sales launch strategy for all 4 bicycle brands – went from distributors to dealer direct sales.

Produced $1M+ in sales and drove 11% growth in titanium bikes by creating new sales and marketing tool – Tradeinbikes.com, which was designed to promote the trade-in of old bikes in exchange for titanium replacements.


Vice President of Sales and Marketing

Started as Account Manager and grew rapidly within the organization, eventually taking on global marketing responsibilities for a publicly traded, high-growth bicycle manufacturer.

Key Results: 
Synthesized and managed $6M global marketing plan for publicly traded company, including securing multi-million-dollar sponsorships for international bicycle racing teams, and the launch of MX motorcycle. 

Conceived and executed results-oriented marketing tools to support worldwide sales force, resulting in 21% top-line sales growth ($146M to $177M). 

Exceeded 18% sales growth for 4 consecutive years.
