Staff Accountant

My experiences as a Staff Accountant, Accounts Payable and Office Manager has helped me develop confidence, excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a variety of people. I approach work with a positive,enthusiastic attitude.

Full cycle Accounts Payable which includes matching, obtaining proper approvals, and batching of daily invoices along with monthly reconciliation of multiple credit card accounts.  Assist with cash management with respect to AP, AR, expense reports and bank reconciliations. Payroll entry and management of 130 employees, which includes changes in personal data/status, payroll reports of employer costs, earnings report, vacation accruals and 401k.  Track and reclass fixed assets, depreciation and reconciliation. Assist with timely and accurate month-end close.  Upload of expense report, payroll and credit card accounts.  Assist with administrative and Human Resource duties as needed.

Full cycle Accounts Payable, which includes scanning, importing, coding and getting proper approval for invoices.  Obtaining and reconciling receipts for American Express credit card charges. Reconciling vendor statements exceeding 30 days due date.  Vendor set up and making sure W-9 forms are current and on file.  Processing weekly check run and assist with wire transfer.  Provide support to the accounting staff during monthly financial close.

Accounts Payable Specialist

Processed A/P, A/R and “p” card purchases, scheduled weekly check run, reconciled vendor statements, reviewed and processed expense reports, maintained vendor file, assisted controller with special project as requested, participated in month end closing, provided back-up for front desk.

Jr. Staff Accountant

Processed vendor payments, two and three-way match invoices against Purchase Orders in Great Plains and Mapics, employee expense reports, scheduled weekly check runs and wire transfer.  Reconciled vendor statements, researched open invoices past 30 days, booked accrued cost to the general ledger.  Accurately and efficiently processing US Payroll (semi-monthly), managed payroll process to keep payroll error to a minimal by utilizing appropriate checks and balances through Administaff.  Processed1099 tax reporting at year end.  Provide support to the accounting staff during monthly financial close.

Processed daily invoices, which includes proper approvals, coding, matching, batching and posting to the general ledger. Reconciled income and balance sheets, employee American Express statement. Participated in month end closing. Reviewed and processed employee expense reports. Performed special projects as requested.

Accounts Payable

Performed accounting procedures related to prompt payments to vendors and suppliers, which include obtaining invoice approvals, batching, coding and processing of daily vendor invoices and Purchase Orders. Researched and resolved any past due invoices or billing discrepancies. Scheduled and generated weekly checks, reviewed and processed employee expense reports, performed month, quarter and year-end closing, balanced check register. Maintained vendor files, promoted from Accounts Payable to Staff Accountant and thus acquired additional responsibilities as contract administrator assistant with setting up new and existing contracts, projects and Purchase Orders in physical and electronic formats. Communicated and assist sales rep with maintaining sales sheet and processing of orders, sort daily incoming mails, data entry, filing.

Managed all aspects of daily activities including A/P, A/R, payroll, handled petty cash.  Composed proposals, contracts, invoices, facsimiles, memos and letters. Assisted in booking airline reservations, answered incoming calls, mail distribution, ordered and maintained office supplies including postage meter, data entry, faxing, photocopying, filing.

Accounting Assistant
