Lindsay Johnson is a recent graduate from The University of Alabama. She studied Exercise and Sport Science with concentrations in Business, Fitness, and Coaching. Born and raised in Michigan, Lindsay received early acceptance to Michigan State University and studied Studio Art. She transferred to Lansing Community College, where she received her associate’s degree in Photographic Imaging from Lansing Community College. While in college, Lindsay worked at Modern Skate and Surf, a local skateboard and snowboard shop. While employed there for six years, she worked her way up in the company from Sales Associate, to Assistant Manager, to Manager and Buyer. Lindsay gained many valuable skills and experiences while working there, such as: customer service, merchandising, event management, payroll control, generating performance analysis reports, purchasing merchandise, attending trade shows, developing and supervising employees, and hiring and firing employees. During this time she was a member of the Hawk Island Action Sports Operations Committee, which was in charge of opening a snowboard park within the Ingham County Parks Department. After leaving Modern Skate and Surf for professional reasons, Lindsay found it important to continue her education by obtaining a bachelor’s degree. She started off at the University of Michigan-Flint studying Communications. During this time, she was involved with the university’s club football team where she was the Vice President. As the VP, Lindsay was in charge of collecting players’ dues, scheduling travel accommodations, managing the home football games, and putting on the end of the year banquet. This experience helped point her in the direction of a sports management career, which led her to The University of Alabama. Lindsay enjoys yoga, watching collegiate sports and participating in outdoor activities such as snowboarding, wakeboarding, paddleboarding, and longboarding.
