Sarah Nagashima is a creative and driven product development professional with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Arkansas. With a major in Human Environmental Sciences and a focus on Apparel Studies, she is an avid learner of anything and everything, especially within the fashion industry. In her pre-professional life, Sarah was an NCAA All-American gymnast for the Arkansas Razorbacks. Competing all four years of her college career, she helped bring the team to a 5th place finish at the 2009 National Championships and earned 3rd place for her balance beam performance that same year for the first top three finish in Razorback gymnastics history. During her time as a gymnast, Sarah worked for DareDevil's Activewear, a local gymnastics apparel company based in Bothell, WA. Working on everything from design, manufacturing, and embellishment, she learned the ins and outs of running a small-scale custom sports-apparel company. Now focused on her post-athletic passions, Sarah has immersed herself in the action sports retail industry. Starting out as a sales associate and assistant manager at two local Zumiez stores, she made her way into e-commerce as a copy writer turned sample coordinator and has now moved over to the product development side of the company in the PL department. With 2+ years under her belt as an Assistant Technical Designer, she utilizes her apparel education background as well as her experience with gymnastics apparel to measure, fit, and quality-inspect production samples for the men's and juniors'? knit and woven categories. Currently she owns that majority of brands for men's knit tops/bottoms, woven tops, and board shorts, her daily task of creating high quality garments now comes as a second nature to her. Outside of work Sarah enjoys working out, going to concerts, watching shows/movies, and any form of art. Sewing, designing, and modifying garments as well as photography are also among her favorite hobbies and passions.
