Facilities Manager - 18,000 sq. ft. 'Do It Yourself' Makerspace Facility located in Costa Mesa, CA. Control shop operations, lead maintenance department, safety and information liaison to members on the floor and point of contact to contractors, businesses and serviceman, provide on site instruction and maintenance for over 40 pieces of machinery and equipment and build all we need to improve our space. In addition, it has been my pleasure to successfully manage 2 part time employees and 3 volunteer staff while building and maintaining first name basis relationships with a 250+ and growing membership community of makers and doer's.

Facilities Manager 

Oversaw and ran daily shop operations. Stocked, inventoried, packed, shipped and received $20-50,000 in product daily. Maintained all records and documents pertaining to the job duties. Performed facilities maintenance within scope.

Warehouse Manager

Maintained warehouse inventory and stocked product. Service and warranty department technician. Shipped and received daily.

I have tons of job experience throughout my lifetime. Started at 15 with a work permit driving a forklift for my father's employer in the summer and worked up from there. Had a pizza job and managed a small pottery shop in high school. From there I became an apprentice finish carpenter for about 7 years. After the trades dried up in 2008, I moved into mountain bikes, built wheels, components and serviced and worked on them for a while. Fun stuff!  Moving forward, I was able to enter a warehouse management position at a small international company. Next on my list was to gain electrical knowledge and learned all I could from a certified electrician over the span of 2 years. When things slowed down for me, I started a hobbyist job flying drones and filming and photographing action sports athletes. At that point, I became exposed to the world of makerspaces and fell in love with the concept. I am fortunate enough now to call Urban Workshop my employment home and enjoy it very much.
