Established as a custom bicycle company, Civilian was built up and ultimately sold to begin small-batch production of highly functional and versatile bikes in multiple categories.
• Founded in 2005, Civilian was sold to and owned by backcountry.com in 2011 through 2012 as their exclusive private-label bicycle brand.
• Manufactured and delivered high-end, bicycles with superior quality and integrity, both when handmade and during Asian production. 
• Developed product line and branding strategy including brand voice, consumer profile, long-term product road map and go-to-market plan.
• Leveraged sourcing strategy to maximize margin while pushing design material and innovation.
• Conducted competitive analysis to understand core consumer needs and key markets, ensuring the constant evaluation and improvement of product offering.
• Maintained BOMs, QC specifications and manufacturing processes with Asian and domestic vendors. 
• Established vendor contracts with multiple parts suppliers and raw material manufacturers to offer customer quality and selection. 
• Led line reviews, product demonstrations and consumer trade show presentations.
• Designed brand identity, incorporating it into all consumer-facing communication and promotional material.
• Serviced customer experience through email, social media, phone and in-person interaction.

Managed and developed two private-label cycling brands – Civilian Bicycle Company (complete bikes) and Cutter (parts, accessories and clothing). 
• Responsible for complete sell-through of Civilian brand bikes in first 10 months of mass-production, exceeding net margin goal by +10%.
• Increased Cutter brand profitability by reducing SKU redundancy and lowering manufacturing cost, improving overall margin and raising sales by $750K.
• Successfully supervised material specifications and manufacturing processes in order to deliver 7 Civilian models in less than a year. 
• Developed long-term Civilian brand strategy, including P+L management, sales and pricing strategy, 3-year product road-map and lifecycle, marketing communication and development costs.
• Led cross-functional team of marketing, sales, design and manufacturing to ensure optimal range and success of private-label brands.
• Continually analyzed brand performance (revenue, profitability, inventory turn, etc.) to identify potential opportunities and/or issues, adjusting strategies to meet changing market needs. 
• Created and maintained over 100 SKUs. 
• Presented multiple cycling-related product briefs for future opportunities, ranging from high-end racing bikes to urban cycling wear.

Senior Brand Manager - Civilian | Cutter

Planned and executed end-to-end development and QC schedule for ’07 - ’10 strollers and accessories.
• Collaborated with marketing, sales and product development teams to achieve continuity in strategy, brand message and product features. 
• Provided direction to oversea’s broker and manufacturers to enhance supply chain solutions and ensure quality. 
• Researched new and technically superior materials and briefed design team on how to incorporate them.
• Responsible for product line accuracy, pricing and quality through all stages of development. 
• Consistently delivered quality, feature-driven products under budget greatly improving BOB’s margins. 
• Continually worked towards brand continuity in all areas of BOB documentation by creating, writing and editing drawings, owner’s manuals and product packaging. 
• Maintained documentation - BOMs, technical drawings and quality assurance testing results.
