I have been working on various sales floors of the outdoor industry (Helly Hansen, The North Face, and Patagonia) for multiple years.  During this time I have learned everything I can about waterproof membranes, insulation, and why products are designed they way are.  Being on the retail floor has allowed me to learn from the ground level and develop unique perspectives on products because of my college degree.  I continually strive to improve my knowledge of product in the outdoor industry, whether it is in apparel or equipment.  I have a in depth understanding of the retail side of things and how stores can most efficiently be ran.  I am prepared to help develop a product or company by using my understanding and knowledge of the retail business. 



As the floor manager I controlled:

-Stocking of product
-Overall cleanliness of the store
-Writing the schedule
-Shipping items for online sales
-Inputting and updating inventory
-Testing the staff in product knowledge

As my role expanded here, I was also asked for input on seasonal buying.

As a sales associate I:

-Performed opening and closing tasks (checking sensors, stocking, cleaning)
-Was receiving and shipping inventory for the store
-Helped and assisted customers in purchasing the appropriate items
-Learned about various types of waterproof membranes (Gore-tex, Polartec Neo-Shell, eVent, ePTFE) and other fabrics being used in the outdoor industry (Natural vs. Synthetic, Fleece weights, and Footwear)
-Was awarded employee of the month (October) while on the sales floor.
