Organize, plan, promote and direct running and cycling events in Utah and Idaho. 
Successfully planned everything at events from course design to sponsorship acquisition to post-race snacks. Mr. Everything for several events ranging from 200-person 5k runs to 1,000 rider bicycle tours.

General assignment reporter covering college, professional, Olympic and community
sports. Assist in copy editing articles from other reporters and write headlines for daily
newspaper. Worked the slot desk at least once a week to plan, manage and produce sports section. Routinely broke sports news ranging from conference realignment and athlete recruiting to coaching hires. Effectively and actively utilized social media such as Twitter and Facebook to interact with and engage with readers and sports fans. Saw Twitter follower list grow from a few hundred to more than 1,000 in just a few weeks as a result of covering specific events and issues.

Sports Reporter

Coordinated assignments, design and editing for staff of four sports writers and several part-time correspondents. Coverage included Idaho State University, 17 area high schools and numerous recreational sports. Two Olympic gold medalists, Stacy Dragila and Rulon Gardner, lived and trained in the area and were included in our sports section. Won regional journalism awards for column writing, features and section design.
