Justin Moreau

Professional looking for a sports industry job. My bachelors degree is in Finance, but I have a range of skills and interests that make me a versatile candidate for a position in the alternative sports community. I have a number of contacts in the professional snow sports industry as well as in the general sporting goods market. I have always worked well on a team and have worked in office environments from fortune 500 companies to manufacturing and sales organizations for the past seven years. I have always been involved in some way in the sports industry, whether it be setting up and helping organize events or working as a certified professional snowboard instructor. I presently work for Milton CAT, a Caterpillar heavy equipment and power generator dealer in Milford, MA. I work as a Key User on an ERP system that I helped to develop and successfully implemented in July of 2014. I trained all users from my department and currently act as a knowledge resource to quickly troubleshoot issues and keep business flowing at a steady pace. This requires strong communication and presentation skills and has allowed me to network with my colleagues and ease their tensions about the new business system. I work hand in hand with both sales people and project managers to make sure they meet their goals and deadlines. I have used Excel intensively throughout my career, and I always stay on top of tasks and keep organized. I have some experience with budgeting as well. Previously I worked as a hedge fund accountant in the Financial Services industry, but my heart has always been in the alternative sports industry. Since the age of 12 I have promoted extreme sports in some form or another and have been looking to break into a career in the business. This is the reason that I teach snowboarding part-time. It allows me to do what I love and to impart my wisdom of the sport to fresh faces. I am incredibly excited with anything extreme sports related, and also very intrigued with the tech industry. I run a product discovery and review site in which I write posts about tech, sports gear, and gadgets of all types. The purpose of this winded missive is to introduce myself and to see if there is anything I can do for this industry.
