Founder

I have been involved in  all levels of product  development from concept  sketches, engineering, production and factory support, factory and incoming QC, and ultimately  customer service. 

I have  a background in  engineering and  industrial design, as  well as project/program  management, but really enjoy the process of product development based on consumer observation and personal perspective.

- Work front end design with pen-to-paper concept sketches
- Manage the back end of product development with factories and developing QC/QA processes utilizing Taguchi's Methods for Robust Design
- Correspond with Asian factories regarding warranty issues and improvement plans
- Manage development timelines from concept to production
- Maintained a 4-month trip rotation to factories in Vietnam and Taiwan

Industrial Design, Engineering, QC, & Project Management

- Co-founded a community-focused "think tank" space
- Developed and taught several creative workshops for all ages and abilities: "Design Sketching", "Customizing Dunnys", "Quick Prototyping and the Art of Learning from Failure", and "Whiskey and Jazz"
- Led a team of design students to conceptualize and prepare a product for KickStarter; the project was not funded, but the experience was well worth the time and effort!
- Worked with local inventors and start-ups to develop a wide range of consumer products: baby products, kitchen utensils, and test equipment
- Organized and hosted First Friday Artwalk events
- On-site services include small scale CNC milling, laser cutting, and rapid prototyping

- Managed the creative group to produce a full array of products ranging from bags to flashlights to hardware products
- Provided concept sketches for a variety of products as well as engineering tech drawings for production
- Worked with Chinese factories and U.S. assembly to deliver samples to support trade shows and products for sales
- Maintained a 4-month trip rotation to factories in China and Hong Kong
- Received a patent for a "Lighted Saddle Bag"

Product Development Manager

- Design and created a tool that could be used in the field to measure forefoot and heel heights
- Colorway development using Adobe Illustrator
- Old school prototype creation; with the aid of utility knives, rubber adhesives, and other shoes
- Tech drawing creation for China factories and US inspection
- Assisted with the creation of the "School of Natural Running"
- And... of course... coaching people to run injury free

Design and Engineering

- Taught fundamental courses of industrial design: Technical Drawing, Metals, Perspective Drawing, 3D CAD, and Portfolio Development with Advanced Concepts
- Developed curriculum to reflect the trends and needs of industry
- Presented papers on the science of industrial design
- Co-founded the Auraria Squash Club of Denver

Assistant Professor of Industrial Design

- Managed a CAD draftsman and welder to create prototype and custom frames
- Developed the TITUS test plan to verify frame stiffness
- Collaborated with production team to develop build methods
- Worked with the Vyatek golf division to create molds and processes for golf shaft production
- Wrote and implemented QC/QA methods for both Asian and Mexican factories; averaged (3) trip per year to visit factories

Taught "Engineering Fundamentals for Designers" which included:

- Basic electronics
- Tech drawings and requirements
- Manufacturing and QC/QA practices
- Two projects that involved building an electro-mechanical product to accomplish a specific task

Adjunct Professor

Internship position during graduate school

- Co-designed and managed the "wafer handling machine" project from concept to installation
- Worked with a local machine shop to design, fabricate the parts, build, test, and install the machine on site within my 3-month internship
- Provided 3D modeling services to various groups within intel using SolidWorks

Project Engineer - Intern

- Designed and created CAD models for a variety of outdoor products
- Managed timeline and delivery of component samples for inspection and field testing
- Working with Mexican factories on assembly processes and packaging
- Worked with field test crew on product evaluation and life testing
