In 2023, NewStore contacted me to assist in writing their Omnichannel Transformation eBook.
The ebook will take what is learned from the Endless Aisle podcast and turn it into digestible and actionable insights for retail “changemakers” to put into practice.

Freelance Writer

Responsible for the overall operations and financial success of the highest volume store in the district. Accountable for hiring and training a full time management staff as well as 50 sales associates during peak times of the year. Managed the building through a full remodel in 2015. Facilitated the promotions of two internal store managers. Regularly train leaders new to the company. Maintain partnerships with leaders at the corporate office as well as local vendors. Built a diverse team with a wide range of skill sets in order to create a customer-centric atmosphere. Enthusiastic about gaining and sharing knowledge. Demonstrates an immediate knowledge of product sell through and customer requests and needs. Creates an environment that encourages effective, open communication. Celebrates success and cultivates a positive team environment. Continually seeking to challenge the norm in order to drive results.

Store Manager

Consistently met or exceeded the financial, operational, and visual expectations of the company.  Managed and motivated a high level of customer care.  Schedule writing for a team of 60.  Forecasted sales on a daily basis and manipulated payroll to fall in line with company goals.  Supervised a sales floor with up to 18 associates at peak times.  Managed all IT issues within the building.  Rolled out a new Mobile POS system to the store team as well as participated in a MPOS restock pilot for the company.  Facilitated all supply orders and maintenance issues at the store level.  Led management meetings on a weekly basis.  Participated in recruiting, hiring, and training of new associates and managers.  Led the operations team that included the receiving team and back of house.  Oversaw the restock team when opening.  Communicated with home office and disseminated information to the store team.

Operations Department Manager

Accountable for analyzing the business daily and creating action plans where opportunity for improvement exists.  Promoting a positive, fun, and productive work environment.  Controlling store expenses.  Recruiting, hiring, and maintaining top talent within the store.  Promoting from within the company. Training store managers new to the district.  Maintaining a strong, clear, and profitable visual impact.  Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.  Participated in weekly conference calls with district manager and other store managers.  Leading a consistent focus on providing an exceptional customer experience.  Maximizing a clientele program within the store.

Responsible for the overall performance of the store.  Established a positive work environment.  
Drove store sales by setting daily goals, analyzing monthly plans, and managing 
payroll hours. Protected company assets through promoting awareness of loss
prevention.  Sustained excellent communication along all levels of management. 
Responsible for store recruiting, hiring, and training.  Maintained all merchandising and
visual standards
