I want to re-invent the rollerblade.

Copywriter + Assistant Video Editor

Of course, this is where I could tell you about my passion for storytelling sprouting from an interview with a Somali refugee, who later ran for president of his war-torn country. I should also take time to explain how my passion for snowboarding and writing resulted in dozens of articles riddling snowboard industry publications. There is also my experience in advertising copy, social content and video production that has taught me the power of brand messaging that I ought to address. But I’ll leave it up to my resume and our future conversations to give you the full story of where I have been and what I have done. 

For now, I can tell you that my experience didn’t come from being the smartest in the room, not by a long shot. It came from taking ownership on my work, and the refusal to be another round peg being smashed into a square hole. I am passionate about what I do, and hungry as they come. 


• Collaborated in conception and implementation of campaigns for clients such as Gold’s Gym, Peligroso Tequila and Ubisoft Games.
 • Heavily involved in Powder Mountain’s season pass campaign, which generated over $25,000 in revenue on day one of application. 
 • Conceptualized, facilitated talent, and collaborated in creative direction for two snowboard-centric television projects currently being negotiated by CBS Sports—one of which begins airing late 2014. 
 • Developed studio savvy while consistently working on high-pressure video shoots in multiple rolls, and gained in-depth experience on the art and technical wizardry of video editing.

• Wrote brand-centered features for Arkade Magazine for the 2013/2014 print cycle, with  additional articles scheduled for 2014/2015.
 • Initiated, and wrote over 30 relevant self-directed articles for Snowboard Magazine.
 • Directed and produced several action sports-related videos including, local advertisements and snowboard videos.

Freelance Writer + Content Manager

• Created and managed new company blog that tripled the monthly views of previous site.
 • Orchestrated an effective digital campaign that bolstered social media activity by 30% through closely managing SEO and analytics of several social channels and regular upkeep of company blog.
 • Conceived, designed, and created content for multiple well-received video and print advertisements and promotions.
 • Strengthened local presence by hosting online tryouts for shop-sponsored snowboard, and skate teams.

Digital Content Coordinator

• Wrote, assisted editing, and publishing over 20 pages in the 4-issue yearly publication cycle.
 • Consistently complimented by the Editor-in-Chief on the quality and timeliness of work submitted.
 • Initiated, researched, and created an online mini-series on powder surfing.
 • Collaborated directly with numerous industry professional athletes and business executives.

Seasonal Editor

• Created a unique online snowboard publication using all original content.
 • Built and fostered relationships with industry athletes, and executives while bolstering publication content.
 • Caught the interest of the Editor-in-Chief of Snowboard Magazine with the articles posted on the online publication.

Founder + Editor + Writer

• Helped improve and maintain quality of online content by working with local politicians, police, and residents. 
 • Wrote a highly acclaimed piece on an exiled Somali citizen, Dr. Warfa, previously presidential candidate for his war-torn country.
