Founder and President

How goes it! My name is Cody Ohlheiser and I currently run my tech start-up Backwoods TechGear (BTG). We designs and create snowboard/ski gear and apparel with added unique features and/or wearable technology. We are still in the development and prototyping phase and are currently working with our second generation of tech.

 On a personal note, I am an avid snowboarder  (instructing since I was  16), long-boarder, and  rugby player.

Backwoods TechGear creates traditional snowboard/ ski gear with wearable technology. We are currently still in the prototyping phase for our flagship product. Listed below are some of my duties and accomplishments as my company's president. 

Recruited and manage world class engineering and apparel development team
Created and executed venture capital pitch proposal to win $10,000
              and earn an additional $5,000 from Ithaca College alum
Raised investor money
Full market and pricing analysis
Fired under-performing electrical engineer
Exhaustive patent research



Sold and provided assistance to customers

Directed all sales associates and delegated work in order to sell at our full potential and maintain the store

Coached sales associates with EDC’s, PK, and personal knowledge to maximize team’s selling potential

Tracked daily and weekly sales and stats to make sure we are on track to make and exceed daily and weekly sales goals.


2nd Assistant Manager

Constructed an interactive map of all current Aflac clients to expose under represented or dead areas

Visited and pitched Aflac products to potential clients around Tompkins County

Researched new leads of potential local clients


Marketing/ Sales Intern

Taught all ages and levels of snowboarders through the Ski Sundown Snow School

Provided excellent customer service to all customers at the mountain

Made sure the mountain rules were being followed and step in if they were not


Snowboard Instructor

Cold-called companies in the parking industry to pitch why them should join our non-profit as a member to lend their professional and financial assistance

Promoted sustainability in the parking industry

Researched, identified, and followed up on potential leads for new partners

Utilized Salesforce to manage all leads and contact clients
