Director of Sales Operations and Business Analytics

Experienced Sales Operations Manager and Marketing Analyst for the Apparel (outdoor) and Consumer Package Goods industries.  Skilled in business analytics, sales forecasting, developing detailed financial models, and managing sales budgets. Reporting to the CEO and Senior VP of Sales, I develop KPI reporting for all major Key Accounts across the Natural, Conventional Grocery, and Specialty Gourmet channels.  Supports Sales Team by creating compelling sales stories based on detailed sales and market analysis.

* Manage Weekly, Monthly, Ad Hoc Reporting.  Key Account KPI Dashboards, competitive analysis (pricing, growth, market share, sales velocity, margin and inventory levels).  Develop recommendations for sales team action plans.

* Create Sales Analysis and Sales Decks for Key Account Reviews, new customer sales presentations, and Board of Directors Meetings.

* Develop/manage spreadsheet models for distributor/item sales forecasting.
 
* Created a full suite of new custom SPINS reports using Sage Query Tool for channel level KPI Reporting.  Custom KPI formulas, customer/store level brand and product sales data.  First time in company history to have view of customer level competitive sales data, allowing the identification of new placement opportunities.

* Salesforce.com Administrator: user and item setup, user roles & hierarchy, reports and dashboards, object customizations.  Process new customer leads, account setup and maintenance.  Project lead on successful rollout of Salesforce1 mobile solution on iPad Minis.

Supported Senior Management and the Sales Team by developing in-depth sales reporting and analysis, enabling management to make more effective business decisions.

* Responsible for the management and utilization of all syndicated data sources, including SPINS, Walmart Retail Link, Whole Foods Data Garden and others.   Successfully developed new reports and processes to streamline reporting process.

* Developed weekly/monthly detailed cross-channel sales analysis to monitor key performance indicators and sales trends by sales region, customer and product.  Created PowerPoint summaries for use in customer sales presentations.

* Project Manager for successful implementation of AFS TradePro trade promotion management software, including end user training.

*Managed backend integration between ERP and trade promo software:  customer and item setup and maintenance, bill of materials (BOMs), and product pricing.

* Created ad hoc reports and analysis as needed, assisted Finance Dept in annual budgeting process.

Sales Operations Analyst

Developed financial models and sales analysis to support Marketing, Product Development and Senior Management in their decisions to pursue new products, projects, services and offerings.

* Collaborated with Marketing, Product Development, Sales and Logistics to develop detailed financial models for multi-million dollar new product introductions. Created forecasts for potential sales, associated production and other SG&A costs, and various ROI scenarios.

* Created Sales Bid financial models for all private label frozen food production. Evaluated investment and new business opportunities.

* Performed periodic forecast and variance analysis.

* Developed and gave presentations to Senior Management.

* Created ad hoc financial and sales analytics reports as required.

Financial Analyst

One of six internal business area experts brought together to successfully implement Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 ERP software.  Two-year project came in on time and under budget.

* Developed business requirements documentation during initial planning stages.

* Managed data cleanup and migration for all customer and sales order data.

* Created training documents and trained end users, including post Go-Live support.

* Developed software enhancement specs, tested programing changes and bug fixes.

* Acted as Project Manager to implement AX 2009 EDI electronic order processing for National Accounts, and integrated CenterStone Technology iVendix B2B e-commerce system for Wholesale Accounts.  CenterStone implementation resulted in a 15% increase in Pre-season orders, and a 28% growth for in-season sales.

ERP Business Analyst

Managed back-end sales operations and support for Patagonia’s $100 million Wholesale Division. Collaborated with Sales Management and Sales Representatives to develop sales tools, sales reporting and analysis to support profitable revenue growth.

* Sales Reporting and Analysis:  Provided decision support to senior management. Developed reports to track sales results and key performance metrics (product sell-in, margin, sales rep performance, etc).  Quantified results of long-term sales initiatives. Created ad-hoc reports and analysis as needed.   Automated reports with Brio BI tool to increase accuracy and timeliness of sales information.

* Sales Rep Compensation:  Established and maintained sales quotas, managed monthly sales commission process and annual Sales Rep Incentive Plan.

* Budgets:  developed and managed annual/monthly sales forecasts and expense budgets. Created new model that increased forecast accuracy 85%.

* Operations:  Monitored new Sales Programs (terms, dating, incentives), worked with Credit Dept to manage past due accounts, created new Sales Tools, managed inventory allocations.  Continual improvement of Electronic Order Form reduced manual order entry by 50% and increased overall accuracy of Sales Orders, resulting in better sales data for inventory planning.
