Summary

Edit
To whom it may concern, I am writing you concerning your job posting on coroflot to express my interest in an opportunity to share my experiences as a designer with you, and also to discuss a potential position. My qualifications include a bachelor of fine arts degree in the industrial design field as well as an internship with KKBB apparel dealing with POP displays and booth displays. Professionally my experience began working as an industrial designer for the AGAM Group a modular aluminum structure manufacturer. Most recently I worked for Czarnowski Display Services as an exhibit designer, and was designated as the national rentals program exhibit designer. A highlight of my academic studies was being chosen as one of six winners of the WilsonArt chair design competition in 2011, which gave me the opportunity to have my chair design showcased at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair. As a designer at AGAM I dealt consistently with work on twenty to thirty client drawings per day with a wide range of budgets. I would use AutoCAD to re-design and model the structure of a clients design ideas to work with the AGAM modular system. I would receive full digital renderings to as little as a napkin sketch to start working from. The rest of my time would be allotted towards product development of which I had many successful product designs that are now included in the AGAM product line. My experience designing at Czarnowski began with creating a rentals exhibit package library for the rentals program for clients to select off the shelf packages for their exhibit needs. Most of my time though was handling custom exhibit rental projects in which I would design architectural elements which had to be fabricated and utilize existing properties to keep the cost most effective while maintaining a custom look to the overall design. For these projects I would receive a design brief from one of Czarnowski's account managers for any of their branch locations which would provide me with the budget, show hall regulations, booth space, client needs and design desires. From their I would create 3D CAD models of their custom design and then make digital rendering with the clients branding and graphics I designed to be compiled into a presentation. After meeting with the client I would revise and update any necessary changes the client would request. I would continue to update until the show setup date as needed even after the project had sold. I am very passionate about design, and I am also very passionate about the outdoors, snowboarding, and mountain biking. After graduating I spent a year living and working in Baltimore, but I felt it was time for a change of scenery, so I decided to leave and spend a year in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. It had always been a life goal of mine to live in the mountains and get a one hundred day snowboard season. I took a job as a ski technician at a shop called Blue River Sports in Breckenridge, CO. The experience helped me grow as a person, growth that has helped me in my career. I truly enjoyed my brief time in the mountains, though I felt that I needed to be designing again professionally. I was then offered a position with Czarnowski Display Services in Denver which allowed me to stay in Colorado and close to the mountains. It was an opportunity for me working as a designer and still get to enjoy the mountain sports I love. I have since reevaluated my goals as a designer, and I would be more fulfilled doing consumer product design as opposed to an exhibit design.
