Sales Executive/New Business Development

My name is Cory Pierce. I was a  competitive surfer who was  raised in the surf industry. I  received a Bachelors Degree in  Sports Marketing, attending the  University of South Alabama and  CSU Bakersfield. I am now the father of a  competitive surfer and deeply  involved with his surfing career.

Sales Executive and New Business Developer for a commercial printing company, using direct marketing techniques, such as: cold calling, face-to-face sales presentations, social media marketing and networking to establish new customers and service current key accounts. Responsible for sales margins, expense accounts, milage and project estimating and management. Cultivating lasting relationships with new and current customers through exemplary customer service and interpersonal skills.

Developed and built a local surf school and surf coaching business from start-up to generate a strong customer growth using vast marketing tools, including: networking with local high school surf teams and surf shops, utilizing a strong social media marketing campaign, web based sales strategies and one-on-one and group sales presentations.

President

Narcotics Detective for the San Luis Obispo County Drug Task Force, responsible for hundreds of narcotics investigations from beginning to end. Worked closely with local media, schools and hospitals, providing training and public interviews regarding current drug trends and interdiction. Collaterally assigned as the department’s Firearms Instructor, responsible for monthly firearms training for the entire department, as well as retired members of law enforcement.

Detective

Worked as a jailer in the Kern County Jail, where I supervised inmates and 			assisted with the transportation of inmates to court and medical 					appointments. I worked as a bailiff and courtroom security in the Kern 				County Court. I then worked patrol in the metro Bakersfield area and the 				county area of Taft. While on patrol, I answered calls for service and 				conducted investigations of criminal activity and civil disputes.

Deputy Sheriff

A leadership position responsible for an average of 50 sales associates, identifying employee training needs, assigning work priorities and evaluating employee performance. I assisted in contractor sales, merchandising, and inventory control. Responsible for 5 departments, meeting a monthly sales budget of over $1 million. Spent two months as an Advertising Coordinator for Home Depot Corporate, developing circulatory catalogs for 12 markets on the West Coast, organizing photo shoots and writing copy for the ads.

Department Supervisor/Advertising Coordinator

Performed aircraft maintenance and trouble shooting by using information from technical databases and maintenance manuals. Flew approximately 350 flight hours as an aircraft crewmember, responsible for the safety of passengers, search and rescue missions, general communications and monthly crew training.
