Free Lance Clothing Design

Creative Action Sportswear  Designer. Experience in all  phases of Apparel Design  including, direction, color  stories, sourcing fabrics, body  styles, managing design team  and product development.  Experience with garment  construction, costing and  specification development.

Design and Merchandise the Fall 2015 line of trunks and tee shirts.  Create and develop the Hromin tee shirts to coordinate with fins.  Apply Illustrator and Photoshop to create and design logos, artwork, and catalog.

Support design team in key aspects of design and integration process.  Developed Technical Spec packs for offshore production using Word, Excel, and Adobe Illustrator.  Collaborate with design teams and production operations to integrate new designs and resolve quality issues.  Used Adobe Illustrator to create and refine product designs for seamless integration into off shore production.

Freelance Product Development

Taught courses in Pattern making, Draping, and Intro to Fashion Design on an as needed basis.

Substitute Instructor

Manage the design department for the G&S surf and skate clothing line.  Team consisted of Assistant designer, artists, pattern makers, and production support, production planners, and sewers.  Responsible for Annual and seasonal department budgets required to design and produce samples for each new line.  Coordinate all aspects of creative product development including formulated body styles, research fabric, colors and trims for integration into each season lineup.  Work with suppliers to define product needs and services.  Collaborate with internal teams to develop the sourcing strategy.  Collaborate with leadership on sales forecasting, budget, line direction and staffing needs.  Develop presentation material-power point & story boards- worked with sales to present new lines to key customers.

Design Director

Co owner and creator of the DC line of technical apparel for the Mountain bike industry.  Developed jackets, vests, riding pants, shorts, hydration backpacks and accessories.  Responsible for entire life cycle from concept through integration into production.  Forecast ed needs by season and developed design department budget.  Hired design team staff, both direct and indirect resources.  Developed presentations and presented new lines at sales meetings with top retailers.

Designer/Partner

Created the Pure Hobie line of surf apparel.  Re branded Hobie into a core surf wear company.  Designed body styles, researched fabrics, colors, and trims.  Coordinated licensees to ensure overall brand image of product.  Collaborate with artists to develop logo and pattern concepts to support new line direction.  Collaborate with all divisions including sales, marketing, accounting and production.
