I help develop creative designs including layout, color selection and/or illustrations for marketing collateral and other design projects. I assist in refining conceptual designs and ideas into computer images using specific, specialized software packages and products. We produce high-profile corporate communications, print advertisements, point of sale, coupons, and trade show graphics. Among other duties I also contribute to in the development of all printed and electronic/web-based materials such as brochures, catalogs, social media posts and promotional materials and event-related materials

Production Artist

This is how I identify when I work on freelance projects.

• Manage digital design projects and work closely with the team to maintain timelines for projects
• Create complex graphics and professional designs for a variety of businesses and organizations
• Develop print collateral (business cards, brochures, in-store signage, packaging, etc.)
• Understand and design packaging for multiple clients in different market groups

As apart of the design team I am responsible for elevating and accelerating 4Bloom’s retail packaging efforts to meet growing demand. Using my understanding of print and production options I am able to provide the best packaging options for clients. I work alongside the packaging and product Development teams on packaging design, print and production material, while learning or creating a brand style guidelines to ensure the work executed meets brand standards.

Graphic Designer/Web Designer

• Manage a small team, delegate responsibilities to maintain acceptable turnaround
• Understand and manage a library of materials and die sizes
• Consult on graphic design and marketing options among different industries
• Use CRM to organize, prioritize and maintain projects

My primary responsibility is managing a small team, delegate responsibilities, and to use existing artwork to create proofs for clients to approve and for printing labels for products. Converting artwork and sizing to die sizes and to be printed using HP 6600 Indego digital printers, utilizing multiple different materials and sub-straights. I am responsible for obtaining dies for each client, often requiring going through a preliminary library of existing dies to find the best solution for clients. I am often asked to use my knowlege of the materials and other options LabelsLab has, to create new artwork for clients that need a professional understanding of not only their products but industries as a whole. So as to provide them with top of the line, professional product labels in order to stand out against their competitors.

Graphic Designer/Production Artist

• Use of AutoCAD to design plans for solar arrays on residential or commercial properties
• Collaborate with contractors to offer the best option the suggested project
• Problem solve as to follow safety regulations following electrical, structural, and plumbing protocol
• Use of FullSpectrums software to engrave safety and warning placards, using a laser engraver

I use SketchUp and Layout to design the layout of solar panel arrays for residential and commercial properties. I also design the permits to be submitted in order to get approval for construction. Which requires me to problem solve so as to follow safety regulations regarding electrical, structural, and plumbing protocol.
I work with clients and maintain a working relationship to organize and collaborate to get plans designed and approved as quickly and smoothly as possible.
My responsibilities also involve using autoCAD to engrave safety and warning placards using a laser engraver. Along with organizing and shipping approved plans and placards to clients.

Draft Designer

• Create marketing collateral for print, television, web, application
• Creating/Editing images for web and print to advertise
• Use of DSLR camera to film and photograph events and segments

In my position with RDF Productions, I primarily work on graphics which vary from web and video to apparel design. I also work on print, from media packets and brochures to calendars, all created using InDesign. We shoot on location using video and still cameras (Canon SLR) in addition to setting up audio equipment.

RDF Productions primarily works on How Can I Help?, which is an environmental educational TV program based in San Diego. How Can I Help? works with the San Diego Board of Education to showcase businesses and non-profit organizations that utilize green practices. By showcasing these groups we show that San Diego is on the leading edge of being environmentally friendly and that there are available jobs for young people in fields or areas they may not have considered.

In my role as the Senior Graphic Designer, I am responsible for all marketing material creation for print, television, and web, in addition to apparel/silk-screen printing. As the initial designer, I have helped build the branding and establish the aesthetic for How Can I Help since its inception. In addition to graphic design, I also assist with still and video camera operation as well as film and audio editing so I am well versed in how to bring a project together in its entirety. I work comfortably alone or with the team as we consult about image editing and layout, as well as episode, website, and event planning for the future. I appreciate the opportunity I have had with RDF Productions in developing my branding skills and allowing freedom for artistic expression within the company’s aesthetic.

Associate Producer/ Senior Graphic Artist

I helped build the assets for this company by designing images for apparel to be sold on the website. The goal was to become a competitor with sites such as tshirthell.com and establish this brand in the market. I used my artistic ability and sense of humor to create these images that I would then edit based on discussion with the company head and desired direction for each product.

Administrative/Marketing Assistant

After conferring with the Head of the Bioengineering Department at UCSD, I would use verbal and/or written information to create illustrations for textbooks. I edited images and the overall layout with an eye for improved accuracy and aesthetic value. I used various scanning methods to implement slides into digital media. I appreciated that this role allowed me to utilize my background in both traditional and digital art.
