I am a former student of Iowa State University (ISU) in Apparel Merchandising and Design. While in school I obtained skills crucial to the position such as creating tech packs, the ability to understand garment construction, overall knowledge of the design process and a mindset of continual trend research. I have worked with Obey, ASICS, and Oakley. While attending ISU, I was involved with many extra curricular activities. I involved myself with Iowa State University Project Runway, Sigma Kappa Ultra Violet Fashion Show, Jackson Pollock’s Wearable Art Release, and The Institute of Art Passion for Fashion Contest. Through these opportunities I was able to gain more insight about the industry as well as placing first in all contests. Through my education at ISU, my internship with OBEY Clothing, and previous job experience as a Freelance Graphic Designer at Future Health, I became very proficient with Adobe Suite software such as Illustrator and Photoshop. During my internship at OBEY, I was exposed to PLM Systems, Gerber, and technical measurements as I assisted the Senior Patternmaker and SMU Designer with daily tasks. As a Freelance Graphic Designer at Future Health, I worked closely with the Marketing Department to develop original graphics and photo manipulations for the company promotional website and various marketing strategies. Illustration and Advanced Illustration were both classes that were required at ISU that helped me develop my motor skills. I have also continued to exercise those skills by creating my own original artworks of paintings, drawings, and simple graphic printed tees.
