Merchandiser

Currently a Merchandiser specializing in Sports Nutrition/Diet/GNC for the United States Navy Exchange Command in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Looking for opportunities in the action sports community where I can use my personal and professional experience, leadership skills, and creativity in a position where I can learn and grow personally and professionally. I am willing to relocate if given the opportunity for employment.

•	Identify new opportunities to increase sales by suggesting one-time-buys for test products, improve margins, maximize inventories by facilitating buyer promos and temporary price reductions on various products, and decrease markdowns by controlling inventory
•	Facilitate weekly advertising proposals and monthly promotions from vendors to ensure various items are promoted at a savings to the customer and at a marginal benefit to the company, develop and execute advertising layouts with various assortments, upload promotional information to the database, prepare weekly and monthly RPC’s, send out CO-OP agreements, cut one-time-buys, track order status from placement to receipt, and prepare sales reports and issue chargebacks and invoices to vendors
•	Works with the Buyer, Assistant Buyer and Planner to analyze item performance, inventory, and profit through category reviews by preparing Average Weekly Movement reports, creating new ARM forms, developing and maintaining plan-o-grams, developing accurate and appropriate stock assortments, keying buyer promos and clearances, and requesting and processing vendor-funded markdown assistance
•	Coordinate store events with vendors nationwide to educate the customer on new Sports Nutrition products and participate in vendor-funded giveaways and athlete appearances and organize vendor-funded corporate sweepstakes featuring new and valuable product
•	Manage vendor allowances quarterly and monthly by preparing sales reports, issuing chargebacks and invoices to vendors, and manually distributing margin assistance from vendors through checks and electronic payments to stores
•	Assist in the open to buy process as directed by cutting orders, tracking shipments, analyzing and recording sales data, and providing recommendations on items to reorder or add to the stock assortment
•	Maintain accurate item and vendor data through retail, cost, supplier, UPC, and case pack changes to ensure all systems are up to date
•	Coordinate the process for expired goods by updating RA forms, requesting funding from vendors, and communicating to worldwide stores and warehouses
•	Developed and presented the tobacco front end program for 2016 by suggesting high
performing items and adjusting assortment to increase sales
•	Responsible for resolving SMU issues including buyer concerns, price issues, special requests/OTB, and frustrated freights
•	Attend and participate in departmental and vendor meetings to analyze sales, performance, and opportunities in the assortment planning process
•	Participate in store visits with buyer and assistant buyer to analysis the merchandise
assortment and recommend opportunities for growth and improvement within the Sports Nutrition department
•	Maintain knowledge of current industry trends through vendor meetings and personal research to keep the Navy Exchange competitive in the Sports Nutrition market

•	Assisted customers with questions, styling, and check out by offering add-on merchandise options and unusual style pieces with quality customer service
•	Informed and opened company credit cards and rewards programs for clients
•	Helped manage inventory by stocking and folding clothes and shipping out sale merchandise to regional outlets
