Graphic Designer / Production Artist

Hello, my name is Jason Koh and I’m a  Graphic Designer / Production  Artist with a BA degree in Graphic Design. During the last 10 years of  my career, I have acquired  extensive knowledge and  experience in the field of graphic  design, desktop publishing,  production and prepress.

• Graphic Design 
- Carefully choose images, colors and typefaces to create an effective design for beauty packages, collaterals(booklets, brochures, and certificates) and other print materials.
• Technical Art
- Manage and update graphic files.
- Recreate graphics for print materials.
- Edit graphics and texts based on the client’s request.
- Convert 2D box artwork into 3D, using Strata 3D Enfold and Photoshop to give client a realistic view of the product. 
- Create a 3D vector rendering of actual product.
- Typeset ingredients, UPC code, disclaimer and other box copy that are necessary for print.
- Carefully examine the artwork and accurately place it on the dieline to make it a print-ready file for the press. 
- Carefully execute color corrections and photo edits on the images if necessary. 
• Photoshoot 
- Take photos of the products by carefully positioning with correct lighting and angle in the studio. 
• Box Structure 
- Conduct research and create structure of the box.

• Colors(Hexachrome / CMYK / Spot) 
- Prepared artwork into a print-ready file with a proper bleed and orientation and correct breakdown of Hexachrome, CMYK, and spot colors, using Artpro/Nexus Edit. 
• CTP (Computer to Plate Technology) 
- Transferred digital images directly onto the printing plates by using CTP technology. 
• Plate-Checking 
- Checked plates using tools such as measuring tape, dot spyglass, lights, and die structure vinyl. 
• Design 
- Designed artwork and accurately placed it on all different shapes and sizes of dieline, using Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Quark, and Artpro. 
- Created 3D rendering of box artwork using Esko Artwork 3D.
• Color Correction/Photo Edit
- Corrected colors and edited images using Photoshop and high end color proofer.

Graphic Designer / Pre-Press Tech

• Design 
- Created and designed posters, menus, corporate stationary, invitation cards, newsletters, brochures, booklets, flyers and logos for the clients. 
• Digital Pre-Press/Desktop Publishing 
- Layout design | type-setting | film output | scanning | color correction / separation / trapping | archiving 
- Prepared documents such as PDF, EPS, Publisher, Page Maker, Quark, Photoshop into a print-ready file for the press. 
- Corrected colors and images and prepared color proofs for the clients. 
• Digital Printing & Copying Equipment 
- Operated B&W digital copier and printer, ”Docu-Tech 120” and color digital printers, Color Pass Z 60 and Konica Minolta.
