Development Assistant

My mission is to help people live active, healthy lives through unique products and outdoor experiences. I am passionate about helping outdoor brands grow their business through innovative products and creative marketing.

The University of Washington is one of the premier Division I athletic programs in the country with 22 varsity sports, over 650 student-athletes, and world-class facilities. I work with the Tyee Club, the fundraising arm of the UW athletic department. I am responsible for building relationships with donors, assisting with season ticket sales and renewals, planning and organizing donor stewardship and engagement events, marketing for the Young Tyee Club, and the development of Tyee Club digital media. I also work with directly the tennis, soccer, and baseball teams to develop fundraising strategy and events.

Sammamish Rowing Association is one of the largest rowing programs in North America with over 400 athletes. In the two years since I joined the SRA staff we have grown the organization into one of the most successful rowing programs in the country. As the Men's Head Coach, I manage and mentor four assistant coaches, design and execute an annual training plan, and coach over 70 rowers. My athletes have been recruited to row for a number of elite collegiate programs including Columbia, MIT, Navy, Northeastern, Oregon State, Princeton, Stanford, University of Alabama, University of California - Berkeley, University of Pennsylvania, University of Tennessee, and the University of Washington. Additionally, I have had 3 rowers compete on the United States Junior National Team.

The 2015 season was a record breaking one for SRA, placing three boats in the finals at Youth Nationals in Sarasota, FL. Our women's lightweight 4+ placed fourth, men's varsity 8+ placed fifth, and men's lightweight 8+ placed sixth. The 2015 season was also the first time SRA won both the men's varsity 8+ and lightweight 8+ in the same year at the Northwest Regional Championship Regatta. 

Beyond coaching, I work as the Director of Development and oversee organizational growth and fundraising initiatives. I lead our annual and major giving programs, corporate and foundation gifts, and an ongoing capital campaign. I am also leading major marketing and communication projects including the launch of a new website and online fundraising campaigns. In 2015, I created a race series on Lake Sammamish with over 1,000 participants in partnership with the City of Redmond.

Men's Head Coach / Director of Development

Created and managed Vital Ground’s Pacific Northwest operations including regional development, marketing, communications, events, and operational projects.
•Built new partnerships and philanthropic support which led to Vital Ground’s first conservation project in Washington State.
•Managed a portfolio of approximately 150 donors and foundations, leading to annual records for revenue and operational projects in 2013.
•Organized evens such as public presentations and community outreach, reaching an audience of over 30,000 outdoor enthusiasts for less than $2 thousand in expenses.
•Marketed Vital Ground conservation projects at over 60 annual events.

Regional Director of Development

Taught Physical Science and Study Skills to over 250 high school students and served as the Head Coach for the Winter Park High School Rowing Team.
•Won National Championships in 2009, 2010, and 2012.
•Managed coaching staff, $250 thousand of equipment, and a $2 million training facility.
•Directed events including races, fundraisers, and alumni reunions with up to 500 participants.
•Managed a portfolio of major donors capable of giving at the $10 thousand + level. 
•Created and managed all digital media including website and social media pages.
