As an IT Professional since 1995, I take pride in being one of the best in both technical and service aspects of my job.  My years of experience provide me with both a broad understanding of the many aspects of an IT Network, and a deep technical knowledge of how to implement and manage one.  I also have proven my ability to adapt to new situations and technologies.  I believe that the IT Network exists to service the customer, so I strive to provide users with the technology and training to provide the smoothest possible experience, without noticeable downtime.   The support teams I have worked on were recognized by our customers as the best available, and sought out even for issues outside of our “official” scope.  My support teams have consistently exceeded company up-time requirements, often with scores of 99.999% or better.

Designed and implemented the office network in Arequipa including all firewalls, routers, servers, printers, and telephones.
Researched security issues and upgraded software on telephony servers.

Hardware Manager

Started in Server Operations.  Moved to DNS Engineering in January 2006.  See below for details. 

DNS Engineering			January 2006 – February 2012
Designed and supported a DNS Infrastructure capable of maintaining a 100% service uptime.
Researched, tested, and implemented 3rd party products to integrate with overall infrastructure.
Created automation tools to facilitate support processes.

SRS Oregon Server Operations			July 2000 – January 2006
Maintained all IT Servers at the Oregon Site with an overall server uptime rating of 99.998%.
Automated server OS patching procedures.
Created automation tools to facilitate support processes.

Network Specialist

Worked with RHI Consulting, Tek Systems, and DeWhitt Consulting (my own business) as a contractor.  I performed PC/LAN Consulting and Network Management specializing in the Windows environment.  Built and maintained servers for file/print services (Windows Server), Proxy Server (MS Proxy 2.0), Exchange Server, SQL Server (Microsoft), etc. 
Performed desktop PC support. 
Performed network design and router or switch configuration.

Consultant

Started as Software Support Representative.  Moved to Systems Engineering in November 1995.  See below for details.
	
Systems Engineer			November 1995 – April 1998
Planned, installed, maintained and supported Windows Servers.  
Researched, tested, and implemented 3rd party products for software license metering, centralized desktop faxing services (RightFax), helpdesk, and others.  
Advised in planning of future network growth.  
Performed third-level support of desktop systems.

Software Support Representative		August 1993 – November 1995
Provided customer support for a modem communications package.  
Developed and maintained a call tracking database (MS Access front-end linked to Oracle tables).  
Performed alpha and beta testing of software.
