Walt Disney once said: “Around here, we don’t look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things because we’re curious…and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” I’m a naturally curious person, which, throughout my life, has led to my love for learning, my ability to embrace change and my willingness to expand my horizons. In my professional life, those factors naturally led me to a career in marketing and public relations, where curiosity and an expansive knowledge of a product or service is vital to success. Recently, I’ve embraced a new area of my career, specifically nonprofit development operations and research, which has given me an even greater attention to detail and an ability to see things in a more analytical manner. I’m always willing to try something new and expand my professional knowledge, but I also know my best strengths are in my communications and public relations skills. These skills have been further enhanced by my foray into nonprofit development operations, and have given me an even greater ability to organize, prioritize and analyze multiple projects across a variety of platforms and needs. I’m continually searching for the best way to integrate my career, my love for the outdoors, my family and friends and my occasional wanderlust. My definition of true success is the result of hard work, coupled with the knowledge that I did the best I could do, while maintaining my well-being and reinforcing the connections with the people who are most important to me.
