I worked as a newspaper reporter/editor for 22 years before becoming a District Manager. In that role, I supervised up to 20 sales people and my team routinely hit sales goals. I also wrote and led sales presentations, worked with HR department for hiring, training and employee dismissals.

In charge of a sales district (5 retail stores and approximately 20 employees). Responsible for all aspects of the businesses: inventory (more than $250,000 at each location), payroll, training personnel, hiring. Wrote and led weekly sales presentations. In addition, I wrote the copy for the company's redesigned web site.

District Manager

Reported and wrote stories for Idaho's largest newspaper. Produced news, feature and analysis stories on a variety of topics, mostly for the sports section. Also paginated the daily newspaper and put stories on the paper's web site.

Reporter and copy editor

Reporter and copy editor for daily newspaper in West Texas. Designed and paginated front page and section fronts. Wrote a weekly CD review column. Covered major sporting events.

One of 27 full-time employees on the newspaper's sports staff. I wrote stories, edited copy and paginated pages.

Editorial Assistant

Responsible for the sports section of this seven-day, daily newspaper. Wrote stories, edited copy, paginated the section and managed two full-time reporters and a team of part-time writers and photographers.
