Founder / Blogger / Digital Media Strategist

I am the founder of outdoor travel and lifestyle blog Bearfoot Theory, where my mission is to  showcase the best outdoor destinations in the West and to break down the barriers that prevent people from getting outside. 

I have a Masters degree in Environmental Management and am currently pursuing an Advanced Project Management Certificate from Stanford. As a blogger and social media strategist, I work with outdoor brands, tourism boards, and adventure companies to increase the visibility of new products and destinations in the Western United States via content creation, social media consulting, and online advertising. 

I am currently seeking full time employment as a social media or project manager within the outdoor industry.

• Founder and content creator for outdoor travel and lifestyle blog focused on camping, gear, and adventure activities with a target audience that includes outdoor beginners. 
• Designed and built website from scratch utilizing WordPress and Photoshop. 
• Building loyal audience and engaging readers, brands, and bloggers on social media platforms including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, & Google+.
• Utilizing contests and advertising campaigns to increase size of following.
• Developing collaborative partnerships with outdoor brands and destinations.
• Monitoring traffic via Google Analytics and other online tools.
• Staying abreast of the latest digital and social marketing trends

• Coordinated government outreach activities across 6 campaigns and served as a liaison between Pew and the Federal Government. 
• Developed committed relationships with stakeholders in an effort to build wide support for Pew’s conservation initiatives. 
• Oversaw contractors and monitored budget, progress, and deadlines for deliverables.
• Planned and organized widely attended (500+ people) events with high profile speakers.
• Monitored Pew’s lobbying activities to ensure compliance with federal law.

Senior Associate

• Managed the natural resources policy portfolio (public lands, fisheries, agriculture, water) for two U.S. Congressmen and developed successful strategies for legislative priorities. 
• Directed scheduling and communications team in the coordination of public speaking events and constituent outreach.
• Represented the Congressmen in interactions with government officials and media, including writing press releases and monitoring and responding to media coverage. 
• Supervised the 54-Member Congressional House Oceans Caucus and planned all Caucus events, including selecting and coordinating speakers and sponsors for events.

Policy Manager

• Served as the project manager of a multi-disciplinary five-person Masters group thesis team studying the economic viability of a commercial abalone fishing cooperative in the Channel Islands.
• Set priorities, assigned project tasks, scheduled and led meetings, managed deadlines and budget, organized group travel, and led communications with external stakeholders.
• Organized a half-day public symposium and reception with 60+ attendees where we presented the findings of our research.

Project Manager

• Developed marketing and branding strategy for sustainable seafood line.

Marketing Assistant

• Sold and taught SCUBA courses to tourists visiting Thailand. 
• Organized and led up to 12 divers per recreational dive. 
• Accommodated special requests to increase customer comfort level.
