1st Assistant Golf Professional

Assist Head Golf Professional with all golf operations and tournaments at the golf course. Manage all outside service employees in absence of head golf professional which includes, delegating tasks, training, scheduling, and answering questions. Answer numerous phone calls daily to schedule tee times and answer questions or concerns. Manage starting times and tee sheets to ensure proper pace of play. Develop professional relationships with members and their guests to provide a fun and enjoyable golf environment. 

Order and display of merchandise in the golf shop. Perform inventory on merchandise to determine needs and asset protection. Process sales utilizing Point of Sale (POS) system and cash register. Process payments using credit cards, member charges, and cash payments. Ensure all transactions are accounted for and the cash register balances at the end of each day. Maintain a professional level of customer service. Serve as Nike golf representative. Certified club fitter and technical expert in all Nike golf products. Assist customers in choosing the correct equipment and technology for their skill level. 

Organize and teach summer golf programs to children ages 7-16 and other adult golf clinics throughout the year. 

Implemented a computer based tournament software program to make tournaments operate more efficiently. Expert in Tournament Pairing Program software and have assisted other golf courses with questions about the software. Utilize tournament software to create custom scorecards, scoreboards, rules sheets, contest signage and award certificates. Use a large format printer, computer projector or television to display scoreboards for tournaments. Act as rules official for tournaments and handle disputes by interpreting rules and regulations to formulate final resolutions. Experience in populating spreadsheets utilizing Excel to help develop country club budget and daily tracking of sales commissions for all staff.

Started employment as a laborer and moved up to manager.
