Assistant Merchandiser

My professional goal is to find a creative company that will encourage me to grow and challenge myself within the world of fashion. I am extremely organized and pay close attention to detail, I believe it is these skills that make my role as a merchandiser feel like second nature to me, my goal is to help the merchandising team run as efficiently and smoothly as possible. I have been a merchandising assistant for almost 3 years and while I feel I have gained a lot of knowledge, I am ready for a new challenge.

• Experience assisting with Women’s, Men’s, Kid’s, and Sports. 
• Responsible for coordinating the catalog photo shoots, making sure we have all the samples needed, and working directly with the photographer to make sure that our merchandise is being shot correctly and in the most flattering way possible. 
• Assisting with various social media sights, coming up with concepts and posting to the company Instagram page. 
• Responsible for coming up with silhouette names based on mood and theme of current season. 
• Assorting for requests submitted by the sales department for specific accounts such as Bloomingdales or Urban Outfitters. 
•  Researching Trends using websites such as stylesight and WGSN and applying that knowledge towards future line development. 
• Assisted the product developer with the creation of body names, sending out lab dips, and contacting vendors. 
• Creating, updating, and maintaining sample lists for catalogs
• Working as a liaison between sales and the art team to help create assortments to be shown to various accounts. 
• Working with the art and cad teams during the catalog process to ensure that everything in the catalog matches the original concept, that all text is spelled correctly, and all style numbers match. 
• Tracking sales via Blue Cherry reports and creating illustrator documents showing top and bottom sales of each catalog. 
• Working very closely with the Sales department during the trade show process, making sure all samples are received, and all catalogs and body pages are printed and correct before going to market.
•  Going on competitive shopping trips to see what similar fashion companies are currently selling and noting any new trends, techniques, and developments that may be out there. Then using those trips as inspiration for our future development.
