Business Unit Director

5 years of experience as a lead merchant in a business to consumer retail/internet company, leading the merchandising function and managing customer service and buying functions.  Over 20 years of experience in the home and garden environment from selling, merchandising, and wholesaling.  Product development from concept to commercialization. As Business Unit Director for Carlsbad Manufacturing, I lead the Home and Garden division in the creation of spring and holiday promotions, assortment strategies, and product development to grow the business and meet financial goals.  I manage 4 distinct websites:  www.hooksandlattice.com, www.windowbox.com, www.windowboxstore.com, www.givingplants.com, and I manage the sales and listing process on Amazon.com.  I provide structure and manage our ever evolving customer service team across all channels to support growth and reduce turnover.  I work in tandem with our Web Development team on key words, Search Engine Optimization, and product development to leverage website traffic to drive sales.  I use a team based approach to ensure all aspects of my business run smoothly, including shipping and receiving, accounting, web development, sourcing and partnering with our own factory as well as external suppliers.
