International Marketing Manager

I have worked in the energy sector for almost 3.5 years now. I began as a sales agent responsible for selling electricity and natural gas contracts to residential and commercial consumers across the deregulated markets of the US and Canada. After a successful run in that role, I matriculated into a position more in-line with my college degree. 

Currently, I am the Director of the Oil & Gas Department of a small company that coordinates international trade exhibitions. I am responsible for planning all marketing campaigns and sales strategies in North America for the Allworld Petroleum Events Portfolio. This series of Oil and Gas exhibitions span throughout the Middle East and Asia. 

Apart from marketing and sales, I am also responsible for each exhibiting company logistically and work to ensure each company, along with their employees, equipment, signage, graphics, furniture and other displays make it through customs and to the venue in time for show opening.

Having now worked to coordinate and plan trade shows for 2 years, I can confidently say that I love the industry. While technology advances at a break-neck pace allowing people to teleconference and communicate from all over the world, there is something to be said for the value of the face-to-face interaction. Finding new ways to incorporate new technology, products and architecture into booth design, marketing and ultimately sales is something I am passionate about and would like to apply from the exhibitor's side of the booth vs the organizers perspective.

*Implement and oversee all marketing and sales campaigns in North America for twelve leading international oil and gas trade exhibitions distributed throughout the Middle East and Asia.

*Create and maintain detailed floor plans of multi-hall exhibition centers and implement strategies to most efficiently utilize available space, maximize sales, showcase industry leaders, and influence foot traffic to circulate throughout the entire venue.

*Organize and promote 6 USA and North America Trade Pavilions certified, endorsed or otherwise recognized by the United States Department of Commerce and the United States Commercial Service.

*Coordinate logistics for all U.S. and Canadian exhibitors including travel bookings, visa applications, custom booth graphics installation, shipping, customs clearance and freight forwarding arrangements. 


*Sold electricity and natural gas contracts to residential and commercial customers throughout the deregulated states and provinces of North America.

*Converted leads at or above desired levels for multiple products, in various markets to customers with varying needs through both inbound and outbound sales channels.

*Demonstrated the ability to quickly master effective and persuasive sales techniques for new products as they become offered and passed all quality assurance evaluations with perfect scores.

*Created positive customer experiences by educating customers about our products, responding to their questions, overcoming their objects, and accurately updating required information into our system.
