My name is Matt Cook. I am a designer with both education and professional experience involving soft good design, industrial (product) design, graphic design, research and product development. While attending Philadelphia University I have worked on many industry sponsored projects with international corporations and in collaborative with teams from across the globe. I have also freelanced for various companies and worked on start-ups projects. Working side-by-side with occupational therapists, textile designers, business, marketing, fashion designers and more. Working with such a variety of designers in a collaborative process has provided me with a unique insight into the world of design. During the past few years, I have travelled to many countries across the world and met numerous influential designers. Most recently I worked in Shenzhen, China learning, reviewing, and designing soft good products. I had the opportunity to visit the British West Indies and attend a conference with professionals in the field of graphic design communication, advertising and marketing. While spending a semester abroad, in Milan, Italy and Cologne, Germany, I experienced different perspectives on the world of design. Being educated by professional designers enabled me to broaden my knowledge of hard good, soft good, and interdisciplinary design as well as manufacturing and marketing plans. Interests & GroupsEdit
- My interests fall the various cultures and lifestyles that I have been apart of over the years. Motorcycles and the culture that follows has increasingly become more and more of an interest of mine. Not only the beauty and freedom of the actual motorcycle itself
- but the brotherhood of its culture is something I have grown very fond of. Sports like skateboarding
- and surfing has not only been an interest of mine
- but a part of my upbringing as a child. In the recent years fitness has tied into this field of my interest. The pursuit and excelling of personal abilities inspire me to always push to be the best at what I do.
