Summary

Edit
My Name is Luke Uyeda, I have recently graduated in product design at Art Center College of Design. During my time at Art Center I began to focus my design efforts on fly fishing and the outdoors; from brand strategy, life cycle analysis, UX/UI design, qualitative research, and product design. I am pursuing my dreams to design in the outdoor industries. I was introduced to fly fishing 5 years ago, and quickly fell in love with the sport. This passion has brought clarity to who I am as a designer. My passion for fly fishing had me dreaming of designing the next great fly fishing rod or reel, but I found myself more interested in the evolution of emotions, life cycle of a product, and ceremonial acts within the sport of fly fishing. Fly fishing projects, as you will see in my online portfolio (https://lukeuyeda.squarespace.com), were rarely about the “fishing”, but more about the emotional connection to the sport. The challenge in the fly fishing industry has always been, “How can we evolve the fishing?”, but I was much more interested in, “How does the fishing, evolve the angler?”. During my search for a subject that I would be passionate about, I found a passion in my perspective of a given subject. I would love the opportunity to expand this perspective to a multitude of subjects, and more importantly have the opportunity to contribute to an industry so deeply connected with my passions. Thank you, Luke Uyeda
