My recent successes in grants development include winning the CalGrip Grant for $468,000 per year for the City of Rialto, RSVP grants from the Corporation for National & Community Service for 2 client organizations, a $750K grant from Covered California, and federal funding awarded from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services totaling over $4 Million in the last 18 months.

I have more than 15 years of executive level experience in marketing, communications and public relations for non-profits, established businesses and entrepreneurial enterprises. My insatiable interest in technology has kept me on the cutting edge of advancements in social media, business communications via smart phones and iPads, the latest innovations in software applications, and multi-media development.

I am a passionate advocate of educational content marketing, and have designed a variety of very successful campaigns and strategies. It all started with educating people about how to prepare for emergencies through seminars, articles in newspapers, magazines, and catalogs, and then videos teaching customers how to purify water, prepare and store food, and create 72 hour kits. My career has included directing and collaborating with a large variety of creative authors and publishers producing content for interior design publications, automotive magazines, university websites, podcasts and multimedia apps for handheld devices. I am currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Educational Technology and Administration to further enhance my skills and expertise.

At this grant writing, research and management firm my responsibilities include:

Surfaces USA is a wholesale distributor of tile, stone and glass products. The company also operates 5 retail stores in Southern California offering kitchen and bath remodeling and indoor/outdoor flooring, walls and exterior cladding for homes and commercial developments. My responsibilities included:
-	Creating and implementing the marketing strategy for 5 retail stores utilizing website promotions, email blasts, direct mail, newspapers, radio, coupon mailers, and magazines;
-	Creating catalogs and brochures, and managing websites utilizing the Magento E-Commerce Platform;
-	Tracking all responses to advertising campaigns using phone tracking systems, promotion codes on mailers, coupons, and customer surveys to assess the performance of the ads;

Director of Marketing

CC Marketing and Creative Services (CCMACS) was my own marketing firm that I ran in addition to my regular full-time jobs. CCMACS was the agency of record, and a development partner in various entrepreneurial companies such as: Pixel Mags - marketing iPhone and iPad Applications for book publishers, magazine and catalog companies; Southern California University for Professional Studies; and various client companies including my first startup company - Emergency Essentials, Inc. My responsibilities included:
-	Performing Business Development for Pixel Mags Inc. - established business relationships with publishers of magazines, books and catalogs; conducted webinars to introduce the platform features and benefits; negotiated contracts to create Apps for the iPad and iPhone; trained sales representatives; and set up reseller programs for international affiliates;

Marketing Communications Consultant

At Tai Pan Trading (TPT) I opened the first TPT store in California; hired and trained the store employees (95 during peak seasons); and created successful marketing strategies for this big-box, retailer featuring designer furnishings and boutique-quality home décor products. My responsibilities included:
-	Sourcing new products that produced sales in the top 100 of 28,000 SKUs within a month of launch;

-	Hiring and developing the training, and incentive programs for the new sales force in the Western U.S. and International divisions;
-	Designing and building tradeshow booths and displays, producing catalogs and brochures, and managing event logistics and sales programs;

Portobello America is a Tile and Stone distribution company in the U.S. with factories in Brazil, and direct imports from China, Korea, Italy, Spain, Turkey and Mexico. My responsibilities included:
-	Researching new tile and stone product lines and managing the U.S. product portfolio by analyzing sales, surveying customers, and working with designers to create new products;
-	Designing corporate tradeshow booths, including a 20’x50’ multi-room booth featuring new product launches, merchandising displays, and product literature;
-	Planning event strategy and I&D of booth at Coverings and Surfaces tradeshows for 2004 and 2005;

VeriadUAL and Moore Wallace were printing companies that produced authorized forms and labels to healthcare, insurance, automotive, hospitality, food service and floral industries. The companies were divisions of an international Fortune 500 company (now RR Donnelley). My responsibilities as an independent contractor through CCMACS included:
-	Organizing and managing a creative team of marketers to produce catalogs (3000+ pages per year);

Senior Marketing Manager & Creative Director

Dataquad was  a new start-up company that specialized in library automation and database publishing. We developed new XML database management products for specific industries. My responsibilities included:
-	Researching and coordinating the programming of XML database management products;
-	Creating the marketing strategy for 4 channels: catalog, aerospace, HVACR, and the U.S. government;
-	Managing the GSA contract, and writing proposals for IT schedule 70 RFPs and RFQs;
-	Producing marketing materials and presentations for the corporate sales team to wow the clients; and
-	Organizing and implementing direct mail campaigns and creating strategies for technology tradeshows.

Product Marketing Manager

During my time with the company I opened 5 stores, started the mail order department, developed the group sales program, and managed wholesale distribution and manufacturing facilities that included food packaging, and custom product manufacturing. My responsibilities included:
-	Developing and implementing the overall marketing and sales strategy;
-	Managing product development of emergency kits, and shelf-stable food in three different brands/product lines for the company: 1) Provident Pantry, 2) Gourmet Selections, and 3) Evri-Day Foods;
