Photo Editor/Media Researcher

I am in charge of all the images and videos for World Book, an educational publishing company. I clear rights and permissions for images, negotiate rates and maintain the art budgets for the various products World Book publishes each year. I acquire, ingest, catalog & process thousands of different media in our digital asset management system. I work closely with editors and designers and assist in developing new products. I maintain excellent relationships with a variety of photo agencies and photographers.

I helped lead the news organization in innovating its multimedia content. I was responsible for shooting and editing the video and photos produced for AGN’s electronic and print editions. I also wrote stories and helped manage amarillo.com.

Freelance Photographer

I worked as a photographer and eventually as the photo editor at one of the largest student-run newspapers in the nation. As photo editor I assigned, chose & edited photos and multimedia packages for the paper's print and electronic editions. I led a staff of 22 photographers and editors, planned budgets and maintained all of the photo equipment for the newspaper.
