Staff authority and lead for external public training of taxpayers, tax professionals, businesses and groups who need to be educated on the tax laws in Colorado. Has the authority and responsibility for administration, implementation and oversight of all taxation public training. Responsible for a working knowledge of all taxation programs for the purpose of providing general support to taxpayers, tax professionals and staff. Responsible for researching and analyzing tax policy issues, working with businesses, specific industry groups (e.g., contractors, hotel/motel/restaurants, and non-profits) and tax professionals on tax issues and producing the necessary training in a variety of formats.  Assesses the need for methods to implement outreach education and training programs. Designs and develops training materials and tools for taxpayers and tax professionals. Public Information and Education Specialist/Training Manager

Facilitate college writing courses i.e. ENG 121 and 122, where students refine the reading, writing, oral communication, and research skills with the emphasis on the development of critical thinking skills. Writing assignments emphasize many genres of essays including but not limited to argumentation and persuasion.  Students will complete short formal research papers as the major requirement of these courses in addition to developing power point presentations in the advanced classes.

Responsible for planning, implementation and management of professional development programs, curriculum development and learning strategies. Develop and manage educational programs for members, other dental professionals and the public. Explore, integrate and develop distance-learning offerings. Research new trends in the dental industry, determine the educational requirements to meet these new trends, and seek instructors capable of meeting audience needs. Introduce innovative adult learning strategies and develop programs that foster innovative thinking, open dialogue and community among the participants. Responsible for the development of a blend of expert presentations, large group participation, small group discussions, and social interaction to promote intellectual stimulation among attendees.

Education Director

English (Basic Composition, Writing fundamentals). Basic Composition focusing on the development of basic college essays written for a variety of audiences and purposes. Writing fundamentals introducing academic writing, focusing on paragraph structure, and preparing students for essay formation.

Gender Communications. Covering gender and: Theoretical approaches to gender development, rhetorical shaping of gender, gendered verbal and non-verbal communication, family dynamics, close relationships, education, organizational communication, media, and power and violence. Instructor: Cultural Influences on Communication. Covering socio-cultural backgrounds including gender and ethnic differences, variations in message decoding, verbal and non-verbal behavior, and intercultural interaction. Instructor: Interpersonal Communications covering the interpersonal process, culture and communication, perception, self-concept, language, emotions, relationship dynamics, managing conflict, and communication climate.

Develop and present employee training and development courses for companies that either didn't have their own human resource department, or they were small and didn't have a training division.

Owner/Trainer/Consultant

Public Speaking. This course combines basic theory of speech communication with public speech performance skills. Emphasizes speech delivery, preparation, organization, support and audience analysis.

Managed the speakers bureau and educational programs. Created/developed and presented educational seminars throughout the state of Colorado. Wrote internal employee newsletter, and held underwriting and auditing positions before moving to public relations.
