Co-Founder and CMO

Born and raised in Great Falls, Montana, Jason Mathews found the love for skiing and action sports at a young age and progressed into an athlete competing in freestyle and slopestyle skiing. After a career ending injury at Nationals in 2011, Mathews took his dedication for action sports and turned them into a business sense. He applied himself and worked through the University of Montana Entertainment Management Program, and took into consideration of other options and mental focuses of where he wanted to go. Action sports and music influence each other and really go hand in hand, and he works to bring the two together. Jason truly respects the sports and entertainment industry and the great innovators that he has met along the way, and turning from an athlete into a manager for rising athletes, has given him an new focus in the industries.

M7 is a multifaceted marketing, public relations, and consulting firm specializing in action sports and event management. We work with team managers and talent buyers across the world to produce an experience. 

Working with the new digital and social department to collaborate and deliver strategies to execute engaging projects for the action sports athletes on Wasserman's roster. I designed decks for agents and assisted on product release campaigns as well as social media auditing.

Client Services Intern

Since mid-year of 2013, I have helped Dr. Scott Douglas and an intermittent director with the day to day operations in the UMEM office. Duties included, basic clerical work, filing finances for our annual Festival on the Oval, teacher's assistant in MGMT 403, working to improve the social media presence of the program, being a runner for our industry leading advisors, and most importantly, working with numerous students on different community and class projects.

Lead the battle of the bands event called Top of the Mic at Sean Kelly's. I managed and lead a group of ten students that were essentially the marketing team, booking the 70 bands, and making sure the experience was executed to the customers.

Executive Assistant

Designed a student inquiry form for students to fill out and input their interests into a database. With the help of a coworker, we were able to distribute job and internships over the course of a semester, and the success of their placement was better than expected. We used online job boards, working with HR of companies, and working with local businesses.

Insight Management works closely with companies such as Live Nation, AEG, and Danny Zelisko Presents. Insight is responsible for coordinating marketing for various media outlets on events and concert tours for leading music management companies

A few clients I helped marketing for were: Kendrick Lamar, Alabama Shakes, Toni Braxton, Joe Robinson, The Wiggles, Robert Earl Keen, and Eric Clapton's Crossroad Guitar Festival DVD Release.

Upon internship completion, continued to work remotely from Missoula.

I Co-founded the Zoo Crew Ski and Snowboard club at the University of Montana. My job was to organize meetings, set budgets and travel allocations, as well as meetings with the ASUM for student group funding. We have made appearances and worked with companies from Poor Boyz Production, Toy Soldier Production, and volunteering for events around the Missoula Community.
