Design Engineer

Packaging and designing large interior and structural component assemblies for an international automotive leader. Designs consist of various metal, plastic, rubber, composite materials. 

Sheet Metal Design Work experience:
• Bracketing, Mounts, Pivot Points.

- Steel manufacturing techniques: press stamping, progressive die, role form, cast & machine parts.

Generative Shape Design Work experience:
• Exterior: Front fascia air intake duct and cowl panel.
• Exterior Large Truck: Hood Assembly, Grille and lighting assembly, Fender Assembly.
   
   - Injection mold, duel injection molding, vacuum form, skin and foam injection mold, blow molding,
     sheet mold compound or composite materials, extrusions, fiber glass mold creation and SLA’s.

Proficient with Windchill Manager, Engineering Client, Windows 2003/2007 Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and MAC OS.

Responsible for many design aspects of cab systems in relation to the Freightliner and Western Star trucks. Duties include bracket design for reinforcements, troubleshooting issues through FEA tests, generative shape design, part design, and isometric drawing creation for newly designed parts. I also create arrangements and component collections through a international database parts library. Currently using CATIA V5 Release 19.

Catia Design Engineer

Responsibilities included pre-flighting electronic files from clients for flexo printing. This comprised of color correction, manual trapping, revising copy, creating clipping paths for image extrusion, and evaluation of dot densities before printing. This was a contract position to handle a heavy flow of work that needed to be resolved before the new year.

Pre Press Technician

Employed as a graphic designer in the creation and press setup of electronic files for flexography printing. My responsibilities include creating press ready art work from client sketch ups and direction. I also update files to new layouts, make revisions to older files, and verify files that come from outside vendors are press ready and up to our specifications.

Graphic Designer

Responsible for tasks such as transfer, pre-flight, and re-assembly of a client’s digital files. Also took steps to ensure that a project was thoroughly prepared for the specific press, and that all color, text, images, and related specifications were achieved. Tasks included color correction, image manipulation, typesetting, and design decision making, creating high resolution proofs for client approval through file imposition.

Production Artist

Employed as an electronic pre-press operator, and was responsible for transfer, pre-flight, and re-assembly of client’s digital files following the
company standard order of procedures. Tasks included color correction, image manipulation, typesetting, and design decision making.
